Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region have announced a one-week break \u00a0from political activities to\u00a0mourn their late Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama.<\/p>\n

Director of Communications for the party in the Region, Edmund Awuni in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> said they will also use the period to re-strategize for the party\u2019s victory in 2016.<\/p>\n \u201cThere wouldn\u2019t be any political activity on air, radio or any other platform; we are not going to participate in any political activity. We just want to give ourselves a one week leave in respect of our lost Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mr Awuni explained that the break is to help them \u201cpay tribute to him [Adam Mahama] by saying that once he is absent from the world we are also absent from the political landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n He said the break will also give them the opportunity \u201cto sit down and reflect and come up with something strategic that would be able to unite us for us to be able to manage our crisis well so that we will be able to foster unity in the party.\u201d<\/p>\n Adam Mahama was ambushed and attacked with an acid.
