The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday visited the party\u2019s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra to assess the security situation on the premises.<\/p>\n

Some NPP youth group called the Invisible Force took control of the Asylum Down headquarters after news broke of the murder<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of the Upper East Regional chairman, Adam Mahama.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”gnS5TLOpH6ohUTNGLQWPjYUAtjeA95BR”]The group since last week Thursday has prevented the party\u2019s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong from entering the premises.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of party youth besieged the premises to protest and demand the impeachment of the two national officers but the intervention of the Ghana Police Service<\/a><\/strong><\/span> forestalled any possible violence.<\/p>\n

Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Sammi Wiafe reported that Nana Addo \u201cwas there to get first hand information as to why the Invisible Force took over the party headquarters.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NPP flagbearer was briefed by the National Organizer, John Boadu who explained the takeover of the office’s security by the Invisible Force.<\/p>\n

Nana Addo was also briefed on recent developments within the party, including the increasing calls for Afoko and Agyepong to step aside.<\/p>\n

\u201cNana Addo said that because he is the leader of the party, it is right for him to come to the headquarters so that he will be given a proper breakdown on party matters,\u201d reported Sammi Wiafe.<\/p>\n
