Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region, Bernard Antwi Bosiako is asking the National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko to resign.

[contextly_sidebar id=”TYnmw4fOoEpQgyaCmFbKdi61LMi6PD5u”]This follows an unsuccessful attempt to pass a vote of no confidence in the National Chairman and his General Secretary yesterday by the Ashanti Branch of the NPP.

Speaking to the media after the meeting was adjourned Mr. Antwi Bosiako said the two should resign since party members has lost trust in them.

“I am pleading in all humility and respect to the National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary , Kwabena Agyepong that they should step aside for the sake of unity and peace in the party. If you read the bible it says if the salt loses its taste it is good for nothing. The party’s development thrives on trust and people…because they have lost the people’s trust for the sake of love for the party they should resign. If they do, it will help the party,” he argued.

He revealed that he had asked the Constituency Chairman to discuss the matter and inform the branch on its next decision.

“Because I cannot ask them to step aside on my own I have asked the Constituency Chairman to deliberate on the matter and give me feedback within three days. Upon their decision, we in the Ashanti Region will know what to do.”
