The Health Insurance Service Providers Association of Ghana (HISPAG) in the Ashanti Region wants the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to urgently fix problems associated with the Claims Processing Centre (CPC).

[contextly_sidebar id=”p60ZYuxCiBuew2ZXgcje2gbx2Zd9002i”]According to HISPAG, processing their claims through the CPC for reimbursement is frustrating their efforts.

The Claims Processing Centre was rolled out by the NHIA to improve upon the current health delivery policy and also ensure swift payment of claims to service providers.

The Ashanti Regional President of HISPAG, Sylvester Kankam Boateng told Citi News is advocating for a review of the Claims Processing Centre because of the many lapses identified.

He acknowledged the reasoning for setting up the center, but indicated that it is rather delaying the payment of their claims.

Mr. Kankam Boateng mentioned that since they began processing their claims through the CPC, they are yet to receive any payment.

“Our claims are not being processed as it was promised that with the inception of the Claims Processing Center, claims were going to be processed faster and then directly linked with Accra,” he told Citi News.

Based on this assurance, the service providers were thus expecting reimbursement to be made in the shortest possible time “but we are seeing the opposite of what was promised.”

Mr. Kankam Boateng therefore questioned why other service providers who are processing their claims through the old method have been paid while those who are processing theirs through the CPC are yet to be reimbursed.
