{"id":116956,"date":"2015-05-18T07:16:41","date_gmt":"2015-05-18T07:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=116956"},"modified":"2015-05-18T09:37:21","modified_gmt":"2015-05-18T09:37:21","slug":"90000-households-to-benefit-from-leap-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/05\/90000-households-to-benefit-from-leap-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"90,000 households to benefit from LEAP programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection will from Monday, begin the\u00a0 36<sup>th<\/sup> manual and 10<sup>th<\/sup> e-payment cycle of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;l0lRLY5KssfMWFRDq6ChLLtAC3KoMjI7&#8243;]The payment is expected to end on Friday, 22<sup>nd<\/sup> May.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was contained in a statement signed by the Ministry\u2019s Communication Adviser, Abraham Asare.\u00a0 The statement indicated that ninety thousand, seven hundred and eighty five (90,785) beneficiary households in one hundred and forty-four (144) districts are expected to be paid their benefits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">LEAP was introduced to support extremely poor households to meet their very basic needs for survival. The programme is contributing significantly to the wellbeing of beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The breakdown of the payment is as follows:\u00a0 one member household will receive GHC 48.00, a household with two eligible members receives GHC 60.00, whilst households with three eligible beneficiaries gets GHC 72.00 and household with four eligible beneficiaries or more receives GHC 90.00.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement further explained that these payments cover the months of March and April, 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently there are two mechanisms of payment; the manual and electronic payments.
