The Comedian, David Oscar made u-turn to take part in the Dumsor vigil which was held on Saturday to protest current power crisis in country.

[contextly_sidebar id=”AXDXgHZXnC1xcmJfNo3abdmjOOrY2LuF”]He had earlier advised his colleagues in the entertainment industry to stop complaining about the energy crisis because it will not solve the problem.

“Dumsor must stop, but your constant whining and whimpering would not act as a magic wand. Period!” he wrote on his Facebook page.

But he turned up at meeting point and joined the other celebrities in the march to vigil grounds.

He defended his decision to take part in the vigil in spite of his earlier comments saying, “coming here is for me a demonstration of the fact that Ghana is a democratic society. I may not share your notion but it doesn’t mean we’re enemies, it doesn’t mean that I hate you.”

“It is also to register the fact that after all dumsor affects me too,” he added.

David Oscar in an interview with citifmonline.com explained that his earlier comment was to condemn what he described as “a certain a trend that had started on social media where people were using foul language, insulting the president about dumsor must stop. I thought that was not good.”

“So if David Oscar says I wasn’t going to jump on that trend, I don’t know how that was interpreted to be that I wasn’t going to come for the vigil.”

He argued that his comment was misinterpreted adding that “people were not patient to understand what I was trying to say, they just jumped into conclusion and some of the media also twisted the whole story and people started insulting and so I seized making sense to people. I never said I wasn’t going to come for this vigil. I only said I wasn’t going to jump on a certain trend where people were being too insulting.”
