Pressure Group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is calling for a full investigations into allegations of abuse of office against the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Boss, Kofi Portuphy.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”u0pDm1dHm4IaAbFRSZCnkSKkk33OIO8v”]Portuphy has tended in his resignation<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to the President and is currently awaiting approval.<\/p>\n

AFAG however believes despite Portuphy’s resignation, \u00a0the allegations made made against him as\u00a0\u00a0NADMO Boss shoudl be investigated.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Chairman of AFAG, Dr. Ayew Afriyie posited that \u00a0the investigation will put to rest all those\u00a0“allegations of misappropriation of funds”<\/p>\n

“\u2026It will be good for him to be investigated especially when he has resigned because all those allegations are hanging on his neck \u2013 an albatross and it will haunt him,”he further explained.<\/p>\n

Many groups and individuals including Ghana’s opposition group; the New Patriotic Party (NPP)\u00a0had earlier called for his resignatio<\/strong>n<\/span> <\/a>since he was appointed as the National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC), saying his continuous stay in office as NADMO boss was in breach of the constitution.<\/p>\n

Some of the members of the opposition described his stay in office as unacceptable, saying the\u00a0President\u2019s refusal to address the matter portrays him as \u201cindecisive and incompetent.”<\/p>\n

Though\u00a0some government communicators have defended his action the\u00a0Presidency and Portuphy have\u00a0however remained silent despite the intense pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n

His deputy, Anita Desoso\u00a0also resigned from his position months after she was\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0appointed as Vice Chairperson of the party.<\/span><\/p>\n
