Trouble is brewing within the Kpone Katamanso District over the demarcation of a new boundary between Appolonia and Gbetsile.<\/p>\n
The Regent of Appolonia, Nii Tettey Iddrissu Mansro has threatened to sue the District Chief Executive of the Kpone Katamanso District, Alhaji Issah Antiee Tetteh for initiating the illegal boundary demarcation.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Tema Correspondent, Elvis Washington, the Regent and his elders accused the DCE of causing confusion in the area.<\/p>\n \u201cThe District Chief Executive has no right to initiate a boundary demarcation between Appolonia and Gbetsile. It is only the court that can do so because we have a historical boundary demarcation already,\u201d Nii Iddrissu stressed.<\/p>\n Appolonia and Gbetsile are both communities within the Kpone Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region with both communities sharing a common boundary.<\/p>\n However, the issue of boundary dispute in recent days has raised concern among elders of both communities.<\/p>\n As part of efforts to address the boundary dispute at the local level, the DCE for the Kpone Katamanso District Assembly, Alhaji Issah Antiee Tetteh undertook a demarcation exercise.<\/p>\n But this move, according to the Regent of Appolonia, Nii Tettey Iddrissu Mansro could be illegal as Appolonia has a historical demarcated boundary which does not call for a new demarcation until the courts decide otherwise and threatening to sue the DCE should he carry out his planned demarcation.<\/p>\n \u201cI will sue the Kpone Katatmanso District Chief Executive should he dare carry out his intended demarcation because it is illegal and a recipe for confusion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI have already lodged a complaint with the Ashiaman Divisional Police Command and plans are far advance to serve a writ of summons to the DCE to refrain him from carrying out his intended demarcation.\u201d<\/p>\n He advised the people of Gbetsile to seek redress at the court should they have any dispute regarding the boundary with Appolonia since Appolonia has registered documents of its lands including its boundaries.<\/p>\n The Kpone Katamanso DCE in his reaction noted that he is not initiating a new demarcation between the two towns but rather looking for solution to the boundary dispute.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t own land so how do I initiate a new demarcation\u201d we are only going to the boundary with the surveyors of the disputed parties just to bear witness to their boundaries,\u201d he exclaimed.<\/p>\n Alhaji Tetteh noted that there was trouble brewing in the area hence his action to find a lasting solution to the land dispute matter between the two parties.<\/p>\n He further added that he would respond appropriately to the courts should he be summoned before any.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Elvis Washington\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Trouble is brewing within the Kpone Katamanso District over the demarcation of a new boundary between Appolonia and Gbetsile.
