The British Council has closed\u00a0its offices\u00a0near the National Theatre in Accra due to the current power crisis facing the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Council in a statement, \u201cwe are closed to all general enquiries due to power loss. However, if you have a pre-arranged examination please come to the British Council. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted.”<\/p>\n

Ghana has been facing a power crisis caused by a deficit in power generation for the past three years has forced the country\u2019s power distributor, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to run a load-shedding program.<\/p>\n

Several businesses have complained about the debilitating effect of the power crisis on their businesses.<\/p>\n

According to the Ghana Employers Association, there have been about 13, 000-job cuts over the past four months because of the crisis.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Some economist have predicted that about 50,000 more may lose their jobs if a permanent solution is not found.<\/p>\n
