{"id":1143,"date":"2014-02-20T12:15:20","date_gmt":"2014-02-20T12:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citi.hatuasolutions.com\/?p=1143"},"modified":"2014-02-20T12:15:20","modified_gmt":"2014-02-20T12:15:20","slug":"philip-assibit-still-behind-bars-at-nsawam-prisons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/02\/philip-assibit-still-behind-bars-at-nsawam-prisons\/","title":{"rendered":"Philip Assibit still behind bars at Nsawam Prisons"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_1144\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1144\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citi.hatuasolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Philip-Akpeena-Assibit-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1144\" alt=\"Philip Assibit (middle)\" src=\"http:\/\/citi.hatuasolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Philip-Akpeena-Assibit-1-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1144\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Philip Assibit (middle)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The first accused standing trial in the ongoing Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) case, Philip Akpeena Assibit on Wednesday February 19,2014, slept at the Nsawam Prisons.<\/p>\n<p>Philip Akpeena who is the Chief executive Officer of Goodwill International Consultancy Firm was granted bail by the commercial court division of the Accra High Court.<\/p>\n<p>He was asked to produce four sureties with two justifications but he failed to meet the court\u2019s conditions for which reason he was sent to the Nsawam Prisons.<\/p>\n<p>A member of his legal team, Joseph Kpemka confirmed to Citi News that his client is at the Nsawam Prisons pending when the bail bond conditions will be met.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cWith every certainty I can confirm to you that he is indeed transferred to the Nsawam Prisons and that was done early hours of yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to lawyer Kpemka, two out of the four sureties could not meet the required justification demanded by the court to warrant Philip\u2019s bail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened has been and continues to be the fact that we had the four sureties but two of them are supposed to be justified and the justification is where we have a few problems because they have to have landed property worth the bail sum of GHC 2 million.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued saying, \u201cSo far what we have is not up to GHC 2 million; is about GHC 1.5 million thereabout and we have done all that we can and secured further documentations; we believe that by the end of today and\u00a0tomorrow\u00a0we will present the full documentation to the investigating bodies and then also to the court so that he can be released on bail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Philip Akpeena Assibit is standing trial with the former GYEEDA national Coordinator, Abuga Pele over alleged financial misappropriation of GYEEDA funds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first accused standing trial in the ongoing Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) case, Philip Akpeena Assibit on Wednesday February 19,2014, slept at the Nsawam Prisons.
