The Executive Director of Nigerian based counter terrorism and security professionals Network, Oludare Ogunlana, has observed that the successes was due to a renewed effort on the part of President Goodluck Jonathan to fight the menace.<\/p>\n
President Jonathan has come under severe criticism for not doing enough to free the Chibok girls as well as end the six-year-long Boko Haram insurgency that has claimed 13,000 lives and forced at least 1.5 million people to flee their homes.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Citi News<\/strong>, Oludare Ogunlana praised President Goodluck Jonathan for the achievement, adding that \u201ctowards the tail end of Jonathan\u2019s administration, he decided to motivate the Nigeria military and that is responsible for a lot of achievement they\u2019ve chalked so far.\u201d<\/p>\nHe added that Boko Haram\u2019s stronghold in the Sambisa forest have been subdued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs am talking to you today, Sambisa forest has been bombarded…communication lines have been cut to them [Boko Haram]\u2026The terrorist in Nigeria are running helter-skelter, they are already leaving the Sambisa forest because they\u2019ve gone out of food, out logistics and ammunition,\u201d addedd Oludare Ogunlana.<\/p>\n
