The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to workers in Ghana to continue supporting the efforts of government as it works to turn the economy around.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”iNJKhwAQR31HKJEPFiwiViukzfuiTi3z”]A statement signed by the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia congratulated all Ghanaian workers as the world celebrates May Day adding that, \u201con this special day we call on workers to rally behind the government as the nation strive for a better Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement said workers \u201cdeserve commendation and praise for your devotion to duty, tolerance, loyalty and commitment to promoting conducive labour environment that has culminated in the current peaceful atmosphere for nation-building.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party however said it is imperative for it to place on record \u201cthe recognition of your relentless efforts and sacrifices towards increased productivity and growth of the economy, even in the midst of socio-economic challenges currently confronting the nation. \u201c<\/p>\n

Asiedu Nketia added that the NDC government is encouraged by organized labour\u2019s commitment to rules governing the labour terrain which they said has \u201cmotivated the party to consolidate its relations and recognition for the Trades Union and affiliate labour institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the government will continue to promote policies that have the potential to enhance and uphold the rights of workers and it will also not relent on its resolve \u201cto see the qualitative improvement of all workers, irrespective of religion, colour, tribe and political orientation.\u201d<\/p>\n
