{"id":111704,"date":"2015-04-27T10:01:38","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T10:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=111704"},"modified":"2015-04-27T11:09:53","modified_gmt":"2015-04-27T11:09:53","slug":"tigo-outdoors-mobile-library-digital-for-rural-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/04\/tigo-outdoors-mobile-library-digital-for-rural-children\/","title":{"rendered":"Tigo outdoors mobile library-digital for rural children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tigo Ghana has taken\u00a0a giant step towards digital inclusion for children in rural Ghana by outdooring its new Mobile Digital Library.<\/p>\n<p>The project which is a partnership with Street Library Ghana, founded by its 2012 Changemaker, Hayford Siaw has the interior of the van beautifully fitted with tables and chairs and laptops.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;nrdkiJ5n37hdGuU7NxBu4D7sD41Uzx4L&#8221;]It also has additional tables and chairs and laptops which can be set up outside the van to cater for additional children.<\/p>\n<p>Explaining the rationale for the project, the Head of Corporate Communications and CSR for Tigo, Gifty Bingley, explained that Hayford was previously travelling around rural Ghana with hard copy books in his mini-van to encourage children to read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this innovation we have taken the project a step further, we have digitized the books, they will also have a hands-on experience with the computers and the digital experience will be the same for every community we visit, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO for Tigo, Roshi Motman, encouraged other Tigo Changemakers like \u2018Tech needs Girls\u2019 and \u2018IT4Teens\u2019 to step up and partner with Street Library and offer ICT training in software and web applications for the children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/11178266_10155527576275112_5337584577228397679_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-111708\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/11178266_10155527576275112_5337584577228397679_n.jpg\" alt=\"11178266_10155527576275112_5337584577228397679_n\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/11178266_10155527576275112_5337584577228397679_n.jpg 750w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/11178266_10155527576275112_5337584577228397679_n-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The founder of Street Library, Hayford Siaw, could not hide his excitement, he was grateful for Tigo\u2019s continued support since he became a part of the Changemakers. \u201cChildren in rural Ghana will be the ultimate beneficiaries of this pioneering project.
