Five\u00a0\u00a0 suspected\u00a0\u00a0 armed\u00a0 robbers\u00a0 have\u00a0 been\u00a0 arrested\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 Accra Police Command \u00a0for\u00a0 allegedly\u00a0 robbing\u00a0 some\u00a0\u00a0 residents in East\u00a0 Legon.<\/p>\n
They\u00a0 are\u00a0 also\u00a0 alleged\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 robbed\u00a0 some\u00a0 students\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0 Islamic\u00a0 University\u00a0 College.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”lNFOm7IOgsZct6XCIHVhnOBCXVO2KYQe”]Narrating the incident at a press conference, the Deputy Commander of the Accra Regional Police Command, ACP Timiothy Bonga said\u00a0“on the 15th of April, 2015 at about 11.45 pm, the five armed with cutlasses and a gun stormed a cafe at East Legon and held their victims hostage.”<\/p>\n
He said the “armed robbers pushed the cafe operator to the ground, and stabbed his left shoulder, making him bleed profusely.”<\/p>\n
According to him, “the robbers succeeded in robbing them of 6 mobile phones, 4 laptops and cash of about GHC1,200.”<\/p>\n
ACP revealed that the robbers fled from the scene and “also attacked and robbed some students of the Islamic University of their monies and phones.”<\/p>\n
“A steel bender at Ajirigano, near the Islamic University spotted one of the suspects where he raised an alarm, leading to his arrest.”<\/p>\n
