{"id":108379,"date":"2015-04-15T05:35:42","date_gmt":"2015-04-15T05:35:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=108379"},"modified":"2015-04-15T09:46:28","modified_gmt":"2015-04-15T09:46:28","slug":"thank-you-mahama-march-to-hit-upper-east-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/04\/thank-you-mahama-march-to-hit-upper-east-region\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Thank you Mahama\u2019 march to hit Upper East Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The leadership of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region are planning to replicate the &#8220;<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/03\/17\/kumasi-ndc-march-for-1-million-votes-for-mahama\/#sthash.x29RiKPU.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Thank you Mahama<\/strong><\/a><\/span>&#8221; march for his efforts to improve the level of development in the region.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;3fgsQZQb2xXEjUL3pko1sM48zSvyjMtG&#8221;]The march, according to them also seeks to oppose\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/03\/26\/buwumia-leads-hundreds-to-demonstrate-in-upper-east-region\/#sthash.1gQuSmuv.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>an earlier demonstration exercise<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0by members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The NPP embarked on the demonstration was to express their displeasure over what they described as the worsening economic conditions in the country and the current power crisis.<\/p>\n<p>In An interview with <strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Frederick Awuni, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Mumuni Bonaba stated that plans are far advance to embark on the Thank you Mahama march.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the NPP\u2019s demonstration exercise was a waste of time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t see why they did that demonstration. During NPP\u2019s time, we were facing difficulty more than this. We want to make counter demonstration; which will make them run away and go into the bush. They will be shocked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to tell the NPP people that Upper East is a strong hold of the NDC. We want to tell them that they shouldn\u2019t do that again. They should leave the president to do his work.
