{"id":10830,"date":"2014-04-03T15:24:56","date_gmt":"2014-04-03T15:24:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=10830"},"modified":"2014-04-03T15:24:56","modified_gmt":"2014-04-03T15:24:56","slug":"mahama-francois-hollande-hold-discussions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/04\/mahama-francois-hollande-hold-discussions\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama, Francois Hollande hold discussions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/10169307_10152168020506107_1490968713_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10831\" alt=\"10169307_10152168020506107_1490968713_n\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/10169307_10152168020506107_1490968713_n.jpg\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/10169307_10152168020506107_1490968713_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/10169307_10152168020506107_1490968713_n-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a>President John Dramani Mahama has held separate meetings with President Francois Hollande of France, Prime Minister Taavi Roivas of Estonia, Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen of Finland, British Foreign Secretary William Hague, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy Brey and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, \u00a0on the margins of the 4th EU-Africa Summit in Brussels, Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>The bilateral discussions centred largely around President Mahama\u2019s new role as the Chair of the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), investment opportunities in Ghana and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and ECOWAS.<\/p>\n<p>President Francois Hollande congratulated Mr. Mahama on his election and pledged to lend a helping hand, if asked, in dealing with any crisis in the sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama thanked the French leader for hosting the Summit on African Security last year and also for his government\u2019s valuable military and humanitarian interventions in Mali, Cote d\u2019Ivoire and the Central African Republic.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama assured France and the international community that Ghana will continue to pursue a policy of good neighbourliness with her neighbouring countries. The two leaders also discussed Ghana\u2019s economic performance, investment opportunities in the sectors of energy, agriculture, and urban development, as well as the EPA.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte lauded Ghana\u2019s leadership in regional matters and also commended the country\u2019s economic growth.
