Immediate past National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has vowed he will never forgive the former Chief of Staff Prosper Bani for playing a role in his defeat during the party’s national delegate’s congress held last year.

Yaw Boateng Gyan who was seeking to maintain his position as the National Organiser of the party was unseated by Kofi Adams in the National Delegates Congress.

He is however accusing Prosper Bani of contributing to his defeat by failing to release funds meant for party agents during a voters’ registration exercise.

[contextly_sidebar id=”zFbbEO8NBTuPN4CGwCn0IxVz5FUc4SCM”]Speaking on Accra based Peace FM, Mr. Boateng Gyan said delay in the release of the money caused him his position.

“All those people who contributed to my defeat during the national congress have started receiving their punishment. I can stick my neck out and say that former Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani is one of them. I can say this to his face wherever I meet him. He had control over a lot of things at the time and wielded a lot of power,” Gyan stated.

According to him, one of the things Prosper Bani did that resulted in his downfall is his “refusal to help pay party officials during the registration exercise.”

“At the time we were having difficulties in paying them and officials within the NDC peddled falsehood that I have embezzled the funds meant to pay these agents. I was accused falsely and anywhere I went to campaign it affected me,” he narrated.

He said though he subsequently appealed to Prosper Bani to tell party officials that he had not been given any money for party purposes Prosper Bani refused to defend him.

“Even on the day of the National Congress I just wanted him to defend me so I will be vindicated but he did not. By the time the delegates realised that all those were false I had lost and it was too late.”

The former NDC executive member lost to Kofi Adams, a former spokesperson of former President Jerry John Rawlings at a Congress last December.

Kofi Adams polled 2,543 votes while the incumbent, Yaw Boateng Gyan managed a paltry 734 votes.
