The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo has been dragged to court for allegedly keeping a state vehicle for 19 months after leaving office as Attorney General and Minister of Justice.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”azA9myQet5VzhIau3tEQEhDkAWHm479x”]In the writ filed by George Spencer Quaye and Alex Doe on Wednesday, they want the court to declare Nana Addo\u2019s behaviour as \u201cunacceptable for somebody aspiring to be President of the Republic of Ghana or an act of a person unfit to be the leader of the Republic of Ghana.”<\/p>\n
In a subsequent statement, the two who are members of the pressure group Inside Ghana said, the vehicles in question are\u00a0a Nissan Patrol with registration number GT 5621 T and a Toyota Land Cruiser GT 1983. X.<\/p>\n
The two, who are known activists of the governing National Democratic Congress, (NDC) also alleged that the NPP flagbearer used those vehicles during his political campaign in the lead up to the 2008 general elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are therefore by this press release urging him to settle the above mentioned amount to the State as cost for keeping (hiring) the 2 vehicles at a cost of $200\/day for each vehicle for 19 months at an exchange rate of GHS 3.5,” the statement said.<\/p>\n
They are asking the court to make Nana Addo pay a total of \u201cGHC 798,000 in the coming days for keeping state vehicles… ”<\/p>\n
