Two persons have escaped from a cell in Tepa in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”BRNZJvqsQrVgz7FOzBrmcF4WXaH9FxZ9″]According to Citi News<\/strong>‘ Lauretta Timah, the incident occured around 1:00am on Tuesday dawn.<\/p>\n

The suspects are 39 year old Shadrack Nyame and 26 year old Owusu Afram.<\/p>\n

She said no arrest has been made yet explaining that the two included one suspect who has been on remand for some time now.<\/p>\n

She reported that “it is believed that with the help of some unknown person standing outside the cell, the suspects were able to escape after cutting bars fixed in the windows. It is also believed that the remand prisoner knowing the workings of the police station masterminded the escape,” adding that “the Police have begun a thorough investigation\u00a0 to apprehend the escapees and their helpers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, following the cell break the Ashanti Region the Police command have issued a ten day ultimatum to the Police officers there to produce the escapees or face the wrath of the administration.<\/p>\n

Such cell breaks<\/strong><\/a><\/span> have been recorded in parts of the country in recent times.<\/p>\n

Seven suspects on March 13, escaped from a cell in Denu<\/strong><\/a><\/span> bolting away with rifles belonging to the Police personnel at the station.<\/p>\n

So far only three of the escapees have been re-arrested.<\/p>\n
