{"id":10330,"date":"2014-04-01T16:49:47","date_gmt":"2014-04-01T16:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=10330"},"modified":"2014-04-02T06:21:06","modified_gmt":"2014-04-02T06:21:06","slug":"breaking-banku-vs-powers-now-set-for-16th-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/04\/breaking-banku-vs-powers-now-set-for-16th-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Banku vs Powers now set for 16th May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Bukom-Banku-and-Ayitey-Powers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6772\" alt=\"Bukom-Banku-and-Ayitey-Powers\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Bukom-Banku-and-Ayitey-Powers.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Bukom-Banku-and-Ayitey-Powers.jpg 640w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Bukom-Banku-and-Ayitey-Powers-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has confirmed 16th May as the new date for the bout between Braimah Kamoko and Ayittey Powers.<\/p>\n<p>A meeting between the management of the boxers, broadcasters, <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"31ca5729-8ba9-4cb5-ae33-7e25f47fd0ab\">SuperSport<\/span>, and the GBA was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium to discuss the bout after Powers had decided on withdrawing from the <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"92648b17-1741-4fab-8aed-1b7065d03dee\">bout<\/span> which was scheduled originally for 18th April.<\/p>\n<p>But the GBA confirmed the new date to Citi Sports on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The GBA, the promoters and all those involved met and they settled on the 16th of May as the new date for the <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"31d1bdd2-79dc-430d-aa55-674c444d4378\">Banku<\/span> <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"71a7f8aa-646b-4d77-8c95-6f8f2679e156\">vs<\/span> Powers bout&#8221;, said <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"0f260cd4-342a-47a3-8e5f-7816655bdbb6\">Naa<\/span> <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"710039cf-c741-4a2e-99be-847d6209feea\">Darkua<\/span> Dodoo, spokesperson for the GBA.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the promoters, Box Office Promotions, were concerned at the public reaction following the announcement of Powers&#8217; withdrawal and ticket sales had been affected so getting a new date was vital to the success of the bout.<\/p>\n<p>She confirmed that both boxers had been contacted and they were in agreement on the new date of the bout.
