Access Bank Ghana has launched its women banking initiative known as the \u201cW\u201d which is designed to inspire, connect and empower women across Ghana, while catering for their financial and lifestyle needs at various stages in their life.<\/p>\n
The \u201cW\u201d initiative which is part of the Bank\u2019s overall financial inclusion strategy seeks to make specialized banking services available to women by promoting gender equality and ensuring their social and economic welfare.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The product according to the Bank is meant to affect the life of women in a positive manner to support their businesses and families.<\/p>\n In his welcome address at the launch, Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Mr. Dolapo Ogundimu, reiterated: \u201cGiving the significant number of women in Ghana\u2019s population, sustainable economic development and growth can only be guaranteed if there is deliberate focus on meeting the needs of women. \u2018W\u2019 is therefore an empowerment movement. It is intended to inspire positive changes in women through the various stages of their life, and across all levels of society \u2013 from the young graduate, the woman entrepreneur or the woman who is balancing family with work.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Unveiling the value propositions of the \u2018W\u2019 Initiative, Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe explained: \u201c<\/em>The launch of the \u2018W\u2019 initiative, demonstrates our in depth appreciation of the needs of women which has informed the advancement of this empowerment initiative to ensure the well being of women in all spheres of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc added that with the roll out of the women banking initiative, Access Bank was on course in assuming its position as the dominant banking force not only in Ghana, having been recognised as the Bank of the Year\u00a0 2013, but in Africa and beyond where the bank has presence.<\/p>\n
