{"id":100691,"date":"2015-03-19T08:23:03","date_gmt":"2015-03-19T08:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=100691"},"modified":"2015-03-19T08:23:03","modified_gmt":"2015-03-19T08:23:03","slug":"helicopter-carrying-gold-crash-lands-at-esuofua-in-er","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/03\/helicopter-carrying-gold-crash-lands-at-esuofua-in-er\/","title":{"rendered":"Helicopter carrying gold crash lands at Esuofua in E\/R"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p>A helicopter carrying some consignment of gold from the Obuasi Mine of Anglogold Ashanti to Accra crash landed at Esuofua, a remote village near Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;IhbFc8sKkEAvB5QHFrrmVrm10QUEV1SD&#8221;]Fortunately, the helicopter did not explode, and according to the Birim Central Municipal Fire Officer, Mr Daniel Allotey, there were no serious casualties.<\/p>\n<p>Three people, including the pilot were said be on board.<\/p>\n<p>The helicopter crashed in a thick forest at Esuofua near Asuboi and it was difficult for fire officers and police from the Eastern region to travel to the destination.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Allotey told Graphiconline&#8217;s Eastern Regional Correspondent, Naa Lamiley Bentil that his office received a call from the police at about 2:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Following that call, a joint team of police and fire service personnel were dispatched to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We searched the bush for about 20 minutes before locating the damaged helicopter,&#8221; he said<\/p>\n<p>Mr Allotey, further explained that the pilot had earlier called Anglogold and another helicopter had carried the three and the consignment to Accra before they got to the scene.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/graphic.com.gh\/news\/general-news\/40269-helicopter-carring-gold-crash-land-at-asafoa-in-eastern-region.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>Graphic Online<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A helicopter carrying some consignment of gold from the Obuasi Mine of Anglogold Ashanti to Accra crash landed at Esuofua, a remote village near Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region Wednesday afternoon.
