The purported new currency notes\u00a0that made rounds on social media was just a\u00a0school project, a graphic designer has revealed.<\/p>\n

Reports\u00a0over the weekend indicated that the Bank of Ghana was going to release new currency notes in GH\u00a230, GH\u00a2100 and GH\u00a2200 denominations.<\/p>\n

The Central Bank has however denied such report<\/strong><\/span><\/a>s, describing the notes as “fake.”<\/p>\n

The designer, Holison Adiku\u00a0\u00a0who studied graphic and web design at IMPC in 2011 posted on his facebook page that the notes were his school project “way back in 2011.”<\/p>\n

“I just shared a project work I did way back at IPMC 2011 as a Graphic designer proud of his work …….. someone just took advantage of my post to make news.It did not even cross my mind this would cause bad rumours against the government…,”<\/p>\n

Adiku further apologised for any “inconveniences” he might have caused through his work.<\/p>\n
