Although the school is yet to fully operate a boarding system, the arrangement according to school authorities is to improve academic performance and accommodate students, who stay very far and walk several kilometers to school daily.

Two separate blocks have been converted to accommodate the male and female students separately. Citi News visit to the school saw students pack their beds and cases into the facilities meant for practical lessons.

The Assistant Headmaster Mr Victor Abotsi said to make up for the situation students offering vocational and art programs are compelled to hold practical lessons in the limited classrooms.

Citi News gathered government under the previous administration awarded a contract for construction of male and female dormitories for the school. However, the project is yet to take off.

The school, a community initiated project which was later absorbed into government’s Community Day School Project is at the outskirt of town. The proximity of the school to the communities in the district has therefore been a concern since most of the students stay very far away.

Authorities are therefore calling on the government to intervene by providing adequate hostel accommodation for the school.
