Hundreds of workers are expected to gather at the Burma Camp Leisure Centre in Accra tomorrow [Saturday], for undoubtedly Ghana’s biggest corporate sporting event dubbed “Citi Business Olympics.”

The event powered by Citi FM, will see about 50 companies compete in different sporting disciplines for trophies and bragging rights.

Some of the sporting activities include 7-aside-soccer competition, 50 meter dash, lawn tennis, arm wrestling, scrabble, volley, table tennis, lime and spoon race, swimming, tug-of-war, basketball among others.

IFS Financial Services won the most trophies at the 2016 Citi Business Olympics with Omni Bank’s Managing Director, Philip Oti-Mensah winning the CEO’s/MD’s Challenge of scoring the most goals within sixty (60) seconds.

This year’s Citi Business Festival is sponsored by Premium bank, Shell Helix Ultra and StarTimes.

Premium Bank, one of the nation’s fastest growing banks, on Friday decided to ditch their jackets, shirts, neck ties and all official garb for jerseys of the favourite Premier League teams.

The “Rep Your Friday” event was to show the station’s affiliation with the coverage of the 2017/ 2018 Premier League on Citi FM as one of the sponsors.

All members of staff were seen in the shirts of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City as these clubs command a large following in the country.

There was even space for one member of staff to show up in a Watford shirt.

Deputy Managing Director of Premium Bank, Jacqueline Benyah, said that Citi FM’s status as the leading business radio station in Ghana and the bank’s ambitions of capturing the business and entrepreneurial space made joining the Premier League “a natural fit”.

SME-focused commercial bank, Premium Bank, has announced a GH₵5 million integrated credit facility for members of the Ghana Startup Club 100 through its HelpStation initiative.

The announcement which was made by the Managing Director, Mr. Kwasi Tumi, during a special business forum and networking cocktail held in honour of the 100 most outstanding startups in Ghana, who were announced as members of the first cohort of the Ghana Startup Club 100 at the recent Ghana Startup Awards.

In a special interaction with Ekow Mensah, CEO of The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE), curators of the Ghana Startup Club 100, he mentioned the intentions of Premium Bank is a prayer answered for most startups in Ghana, and hopes startups will make the best use of the opportunity to expand their businesses to become more innovative and globally competitive.

The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE) through its flagship initiative; The Startup Network is set to hold the second edition of it’s annual Startup Awards today [July 13th July, 2017].

More than 150 startups in Ghana are up for awards in various categories including Media, Agriculture, Health, Education, FinTech and Technology.
