The school’s library was painted and stocked with variety of story books by staff of MTN.

MTN’s 21 Days of Yellow Care is an annual event where the first 21 days in every June is set aside across the country by the company to give back to identified communities with specific needs.

The focus of this year’s 21 Days Yellow Care under the MTN Foundation, is on education, health and economic empowerment.

The Pinanko A.M.E. Zion School is over 60 years, but has not had a functional library. The block was at some point converted into a teaching class room.

Speaking during the presentation of the books to the headmaster of the school, Wisdom Boamah, the regional manager of MTN, Simon Amoh, reiterated the company’s commitment at giving back to the community.

He explained that education has become the greatest asset a child could get to be able to catch up with developments around the globe, hence the decision by MTN to support the school with books.

He said, “the world is getting competitive and to stay relevant to any industry or community or the world as it revolves, you need to clearly stay educated. It is a key pillar for us at MTN for people to stay educated. It is for this reason we continue to help schools like we have done for this school and continue to do”.

The Head teacher of the Pinanko A.M.E. Zion School, Wisdom Boamah, expressed appreciation for the books and promised to use them for the purpose for which they were donated.
