The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) Dr. Paa Kwesi Ndoum has appealed to the people of the Upper East Region to choose his party if they want to see massive development.

According to Dr. Nduom, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are indifferent about the developmental needs of the people in the area.

[contextly_sidebar id=”kf2ZlTLW5UcGkoHHAjebHze13yugz71e”]Addressing party faithful in Zuarungu during a one day campaign tour of the region, Dr. Ndoum expressed worry at the state of development in the area.

According to the PPP Flag bearer, for the region to receive its share of the national cake, electorates must vote out the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and give the PPP the mandate come Dec 7.

“So why is it that, the people of the Upper East Region they have been voting for the NDC to go to power yet your roads are like this? The roads are bad and terrible.

In many places common water to drink is a problem, In many places the schools need help, the schools that I have seen they don’t qualify to be called schools.

In many other places too, the health facilities are not there and the we have  farmers in this region who need help but can’t get help so there are many problem but if these problems are going to be solve then we need the PPP”.

Dr. Ndoum appealed to Ghanaians to vote overwhelming for the victory of the PPP in the upcoming polls since where the Jobs Ghanaians are yelling for is the PPP.

For his part, PPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Bolga East Constituency, Baba Starling accused incumbent Member of Parliament Dr. Dominic Ayine of investing in projects the constituents don’t need.. According to him, the people will experience real development when he is voted into office.

“It is a misplaced priority to build an ultra modern NDC party office at about GHC250,000.00 while road network in the constituency are in a deplorable state. This party office has no use to constituents when these monies could have been used in other sectors including  revamping  the Zuarungu meat factory to  create jobs for the youth.

When voted into office, I will establish an education fund with a seed capital of GHC100,000.00 to support children in the education. I will also establish another fund to support traders particularly women in their businesses among others”.

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) parliamentary nominee for the Effutu constituency in the Central Region, Nana Ofori Owusu, has blamed the incumbent Member of Parliament, Alex Afenyo Markin, and government for the predicaments of inhabitants in the area.

This he attributed to the unfulfilled promises made by Afenyo Markin and the president to the people of Effutu prior to the 2012 elections.

According to him, the electorates of Effutu are fed up with the two leaders and would vote them out on December 7, 2016.

“The people of Effutu voted for progress which turned out to be problems, they voted for prosperity in 2012 which has now turned to absurdity. It was lies and propaganda that won them votes and they have succeeded in fooling the people of Winneba for votes and am sure the good people of Winneba are not ready to repeat that mistake,” Owusu added.

Speaking at a rally to launch his 2016 campaign at Gyahadzi, Owusu said the inhabitants are ready to vote massively for the PPP on December 7.

“Someone said he has given us taxis, have you got any taxi? Have you got any sewing machine? They promised to insure our fishermen on the sea, have they been insured? You have voted for the NDC and the NPP since 1992 with no benefits, it’s about time to change our voting pattern from these two political parties to the PPP,” he stated.

He also used the opportunity to highlights some initiatives to be undertaken by his party if they are given the mandate.

“If you look at the score cards of Effutu, sanitation; Mahama zero, Alex Markin zero, Education; Mahama zero Alex Markin zero, job creation; Mahama zero, Alex Markin zero, heath; Mahama zero, Alex Markin zero, so this means that these two leaders should be ousted and make way for Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and Nana Ofori Owusu who are willing meet the needs of the people of Winneba,” he added.

On his part, the presidential nominee of the PPP, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, said promises being made by both the New Patriotic Party and the governing National Democratic Congress are unrealistic.

“They are making promises in order to win your votes. President Mahama is now telling us he would create one million jobs when voted into power again. Where has he been since 2008, when he was the vice president and now the president? And Nana Addo is also promising one district, one factory. When did he realise to create jobs in all the districts? Why are they saying this at this time? Is it not because of votes?”

He entreated the electorates to instead vote for him because he has the ability to create jobs nationwide; an assurance he had already done.

“Look, I Papa Kwesi Nduom would not promise you jobs because I have already created jobs in all the districts in Ghana and am still creating more. So vote for me and get what you desire.”

The rally, which brought together teaming supporters of the PPP was also attended by opinion leaders in the Effutu constituency.

Nana Ofori Owusu is contesting the incumbent MP Alex Afenyo Markin of the New Patriotic Party, Eric Don Arthur of the National Democratic Congress, and Supi Sam Odonsu of the Convention People’s Party in the in the December 7th polls.
