Azad Singh, 46, found his wife’s boyfriend Majinder Virk hiding between his sons’ beds when he returned from a night shift.

Kulwinder Kaur had been having an affair with Virk and allegedly had just been having sex with him when Singh returned.

Flying into a rage, Singh repeatedly punched and kicked Virk but his wife managed to get him out of the flat.

Singh then stabbed his 40-year-old wife three times using a large kitchen knife, with one blow slicing a carotid artery.

The trial judge rejected Singh’s claim he had lost his self-control after his wife had taunted him about his sexual prowess.

After a seven day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Singh from Willenhall, West Midlands was convicted on Wednesday and sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum 14 years.

He pleaded guilty to wounding of the 40-year-old man who had been in the flat with Mrs Kaur at the time during a previous hearing.

The court heard Singh and Mrs Kaur, known to friends as Rani, moved to the UK from Italy with their two teenage sons in 2016.

In October they moved to a rented tenth floor flat where Singh worked during the day at Joe’s Chippy while Mrs Kaur worked night shifts at nearby Slick Stitch embroidery factory.

The affair then began with Virk, 41, when on January 18 after they had been together Singh returned home and rang the doorbell around 11am.

Virk hid in the children’s bedroom but was found by Singh who ‘rained down heavy blows’ before dragging him towards the front door.

Miss Brand said Singh further punched and kicked Virk but that Mrs Kaur was able to open the front door and her lover escaped.

The prosecutor, added: ‘After Mr Virk left only the defendant can say what happened next. He must have gone to the kitchen to fetch a knife and it must be the same time Mr Virk was making his exit through the door.

‘The police found blood on the edge of a kitchen workshop immediately above the cutlery draw. It was Mr Virk’s blood. There can’t be any doubt it came from the defendant’s hands.

‘We know his wife sustained three stab wounds. We know he left the flat leaving her body on the floor.’

Mrs Kaur was stabbed once in her neck, once on her shoulder and once in her side. The latter wound was found to be up to 15cm (5.9in) deep.

Miss Brand added Singh immediately visited family friend Onkar Singh and told him he had ‘killed Rani.’

But when interviewed by police Singh said he had not immediately realised the knife had gone into his wife and that he left the flat not knowing she was dead.

The 19-year-old was locked up in El Salvador because her child died during her pregnancy.

Evelyn Beatriz Hernandez Cruz has been sentenced for ‘aggravated homicide’.

The ruling is part of staunchly conservative laws on abortion held by the Central American state.

Ms Cruz was reportedly raped during her pregnancy and only found out she was pregnant after collapsing in a bathroom.

She claimed to have been repeatedly raped by a gang member over months when she was 18.

When authorities found the fetus in April 2016, she was charged because she had not sought prenatal care, authorities said.

The law, which was brought in in 1998, criminalises all forms of abortion and some women can be jailed for 40 years.

UN officials have already pleaded with lawmakers to overturn the strict rules.

Amnesty’s Americas Director Erika Guevara-Rosas said the law is ‘causing nothing but pain and suffering to countless women and girls and their families’.

She added: ‘It goes against human rights and it has no place in the country or anywhere.’

However, the judge believed the state prosecutor who claimed Ms Cruz had thrown the fetus into a toilet bowl after giving birth.

The mother was also accused by the judge of involvement according to the Guardian.

Reform of the law is currently in a committee stage of the federal legislature and there is no certainty there will be a vote.

The female crocodile – known as ‘The Princess’ – was baptised on Thursday then subsequently dressed in a custom-made wedding dress and had her jaws clamped shut for the big day on Friday.

She also wore a veil as she was paraded through streets, accompanied by band music.

After the procession, the reptile was married to the mayor of San Pedro Huamelula Victor Aguilarand in the town hall.

The the croc got hitched as part of a ritual which has been practised by the Chontal Indians since 1789.

They believe the ceremony will bring good luck and prosperity to local fishermen along the Pacific coast of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca state.

According to custom, the crocodile is regarded as a princess, and it’s believed she will bring peace and prosperity to their community.

Mr Aguilar said: “The marenos [referring to the local residents], call her ‘The Princess’.

“So the role that I play is to be the husband of the princess.”

A wedding guest said afterwards: “The dance they do here is like an offer to God, to thank for the land, the harvest, the fish.”

The stunned workers in the Brazilian maternity hospital were trying to bath the little girl with the very large will for the very first time.

But the newborn had very different ideas.

In the video, a midwife cradles the little baby across her chest with one arm and is clearly stunned as the miracle baby wriggles to walk on her own.

The nurse, dressed in surgical robes with a clinical mask over her mouth, cries out in Portuguese in amazement: ‘Oh my gosh, the girl is walking. Good gracious!’

‘Wait let me film this,’ another person in the room can be heard saying.

They then shout for another colleague called Ju to come to witness the amazing moment.

‘Ju, Ju come and see this,’ they cry.

The midwife in the video explains that she has been trying to give the baby a bath but the child just wants to get up and walk.

‘Merciful father. I was trying to wash her here and she keeps getting up to walk,’ she says as she points with one hand to where she initially tried to lay the baby down to give the child her very first bath.

‘She has walked from here to here,’ she says pointing across the distance the newborn has already covered.

Her incredible will and super-baby strength would make the animated characters in Baby Boss and Stewie in Family Guy look less far-fetched than they may have previously appeared.

The amazing video was uploaded to social media on Friday.

Since then it has amazed viewers who have said that the tiny baby’s attempts to walk are miraculous.

It has already had more than 50 million views and 1.3 million shares on Facebook.

Limited details are available to identify where exactly the incident took place or whose baby it is, but the insignia on the midwife’s robes suggest she works at a Santa Cruz Hospital, in a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, south Brazil.

Newborn babies generally take up to 12 months to learn to walk and that usually comes only after they have achieved and passed other major miles-stones in their development such as hand to eye coordination, sitting up and crawling.

An unidentified woman screamed out in pain as she was caned 23 times in Indonesia’s Aceh for breaking the province’s strict Islamic law forbidding intimacy between unmarried couples.

Aceh is the only province in Indonesia that enforces sharia law and people face floggings for a range of offences, including gambling, drinking alcohol and gay sex.

She was one of 13 people – aged between 21-30 – to be flogged on Monday at a mosque.

The woman was allegedly caught standing too close to her boyfriend.

The six couples were found guilty of breaking Islamic law that bans intimacy – no touching, hugging and kissing – between unmarried people.

One man was even caned for spending time with a member of the opposite sex in a private location, which could lead to adultery.

One of the offenders, a 22-year-old pregnant woman, was not flogged on Monday but was warned the punishment will be enforced after she has given birth.

With a reported increase in floggings of women, Daily Mail reported Nur Elita was marched to the yard of Baiturrahumim Mosque in Banda Aceh at the end of last year and received five lashes.

Ms Elita keeled over in pain at the end of her lashings as she had to be carried off stage and taken to hospital.

She received her harsh floggings for getting to close to a fellow university student – who was also whipped.
