About 20 physician assistants who graduated in 2015, besieged the Ministry of Health on Monday over their delayed posting.

According to the physician assistants, over 115 of their fellow professionals have not been posted between 2013 and 2015.

They have thus vowed to sleep at the premises of the Ministry until their demands are met, just like others have done in times past.

The frustrated physician assistants are demanding that they be posted in order to commence work, so they can be free from their five-year bond with the government.

The students expressed frustration about being unemployed which has left them financially handicapped since completing school.

They served notice that they were prepared to make the ministry their home until they were assured of their postings.

The students, who came from various regions brought along extra clothes, blankets, soap, toothpaste, and many other things, showing their readiness to stay at the ministry for as long as it takes for their demands to be met.

Speaking to Citi News, some of them pleaded with the government to recognize their plight and post them, because they were tired of being liabilities to their parents.

“I traveled from the Western Region, Brong Ahafo; I traveled throughout the night, about eleven hours journey. I completed in 2015, that is two years ago. We have not been posted, in fact, we have been depending on our parents, but now we are not able to go to them because they know they are done with our education. For the past six months, we have been coming here, we have forwarded our names. They say they are working on it but nothing good has come out of it,” one of students said.
