He also stressed on the need to instigate a fundamental change in Africa’s approach to governance.

“An integrated and prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development requires a paradigm shift, not only in the way we govern, but also in the urgency to develop the capabilities of citizens,” he said.

The Vice President was speaking at the 7th Nordic-African Business Summit in Oslo, Norway, and is on the theme, “Investing in Africa’s Transition – How, not Why?”

Dr. Bawumia further suggested a transformation in each African country’s economy to facilitate the paradigm shift.

He noted that “managing a continent in transition requires a structural transformation of our economies, and key to this end, is how to use technology to innovate production systems from farm to offices, and to manufacturing. As economies become more sophisticated and transactions more complicated, the ability to develop the information base that supports a comprehensive tax system is central to building a strong domestic resource mobilization capacity.”

The 7th Nordic-African Business Summit (NABA), which was first held in 2011, is focused on bringing together leaders in government and business to discuss key issues pertaining to African markets.

This year’s event featured leaders including the CEO of Appolonia City Ghana, Bright Owusu-Amofah; Uganda’s Presidency Minister, Esther Mbayo, and the Managing Director of Norwegian-African Business Association, NABA, Eivind Fjeldstad.

Kroos, 24, was a key player in the Germany side which beat Argentina 1-0 to win the World Cup and scored two goals during the competition in Brazil.

He will be presented to the Real Madrid fans at the Bernabeu on Thursday afternoon after undergoing a medical.

Kroos joined Bayern from Hansa Rostock as a 16-year-old and has made 176 appearances for the German giants.

He spent 18 months on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but returned to win three Bundesliga titles and three German cups.

He was part of the historic treble-winning side of 2012-13 which also lifted the Champions League, before winning the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup last season.

Kroos, whose contract with Bayern had one year left to run, had been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “We would like to thank Toni Kroos for his time here in Munich.

“We enjoyed great success here together. We would like to wish him and his family all the best in Madrid and with Real.”

The German midfielder enjoyed an excellent campaign in Brazil, playing a starring role in their World Cup win which culminated with a 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina.

Kroos, who finished the tournament as the leading creator with four assists, confirmed after the final in the Maracana that he would indeed be leaving Bayern Munich for Real.

Madrid were linked a number of weeks ago, but at that time Kroos refused to comment as he was concentrating on the finals.

But now Kroos has revealed that he will be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

“We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved,” Kroos told UOL.
