According to them, Nanung was noted among the peaceful traditional areas in the country, and they believed that with the successful burial of the late chief, the area will regain its lost glory.

Asumana Musah, who spoke on behalf of the youth, pledged the support and cooperation of the youth in efforts to create an enabling environment for accelerated growth and development of Nanung.

“We wish to congratulate you and also declare our support and cooperation with you in your efforts at creating an enabling environment for an accelerated growth and development in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility across Nanung. We have resolved to harness our resources and energies to help you actualize the dream of making Nanung a better place to live and to attract investors to Nanung to create employment opportunities to engage the vast majority of the unemployed youth. We believed that it is one of the surest ways of ensuring sustainable peace in Nanung,” he said.

On his part, the regent, Sung-Lana, thanked the youth and the people of Nanung for the love and support during the burial of his late father, Naa Salifu Dawuni.

He admonished the youth to exercise restraint and be patient and prayerful, whilst they wait for a final determination of the chieftaincy dispute by the Supreme Court.

He urged the youth not to engage in acts that will disturb the peace of the area, and called on them to emulate Samir Bastie, the young boxer who defeated boxer Bukom Banku last month in a non-title bout in Accra.

He used the occasion to congratulate him for lifting the flag of Nanung high as he is an indigene of the area.

Sung-Lana further called on the government to build a boxing facility in Nanung to enable the youth to develop their skill in the sports.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank Bastie for lifting the name of Nanung up and I want to encourage you to emulate what he has done. I call on the government to think of establishing a boxing arena in Nanung so that the youth can channel their energies into that rather than being unemployed”.

The regent of the late Naa Abarika Atta, Chief Vo-Naa, called on the youth to be patient and united.

He thanked the president, Nana Addo, Defense Minister and Member of Parliament for the area Dominic Nitiwul, and the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed for the support given to them for the burial of the late Naa Salifu.

The family of the late Nakpa Naa Alhaji Salifu Dawuni is appealing to the government to allow them to bury the late chief.

The appeal was made when the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed paid a courtesy call on the family during his visit to Nanung area to assess the extent of damage caused by recent torrential rains that left many persons homeless.

The late Nakpa Naa died in March of 2014 at the Tamale Teaching Hospital but the choice of his burial site has become a bone of contention between two factions.

Thus, his remains are still at the Yendi Government Hospital mortuary while the grave is still left uncovered.

According to the spokesperson for the family, Mohammed Awal the continued prohibition of the burial is a great concern to the family.

“We are saying that in this particular family of ours, we have a very big problem which is the burial of our old man who is the late Naa Salifu Dawuni. He died on the 5th of March 2014 but until now he has not yet been buried and we are not sleeping over this,” he told Citi News.

“It is a problem to us and we call on the government to as a matter of urgency look into that for us to bury the late chief. The continued detention of his remains at the mortuary is not in our best interest.”

Ahuofɛ ‘I like Kalybos but I love someone else’ – Ahuofɛ Patri has spoken at last. The adorable actress in the hilarious Kalybos movie clips has categorically denied dating Kalybos, the character who is constantly on her trail.

For the last few weeks, speculation that Ahuofɛ Patri, real name Priscilla Opoku Agyeman, was dating Kalybos has gone viral in social media circles. But the pretty lady, a final year student of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) has dismissed the story as mere fabrication.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz last Friday, Ahuofɛ Patri said, “I like Kalybos but I’m in love with someone else”.
According to her, she considered Kalybos as a brother and friend and asked the public not to take what she does with Kalybos in the comedy series seriously because they are only acting.

Not long after she featured on Boys Kasa: Adventures of Kalybos, Ahuofɛ Patri began to win the hearts of viewers on social media with her acting skills and has continued to attract more attention after her participation in Airtel television commercials.

“Well, I have known Kalybos for more than three years and he is a nice person. I have had people ask me if that’s how funny he really is away from the cameras”, she said.

“There are times when he does something to me and I vow not to talk to him but before I know it, he says something funny and then I start laughing again. We are very close but there is nothing intimate to it” Ahuofɛ stressed.

Asked if she would agree to go on a date if Kalybos asked her, she responded, “I am his sister; Kalybos would never ask me to go out with him. Which brother asks his sister to date him? She said laughing.

“I am in a serious relationship and it’s not with Kalybos,” she said.

The 23 year old, said acting has always been her dream but she never thought comedy was what would shoot her into the spotlight.
Ahuofɛ Patri said although her fame has come as a surprise to her, she is learning to get used to all the attention she gets from her fans in order not to be seen to be disrespectful and pompous.

She pledged her commitment to learn from successful actresses in the industry who have a positive attitude and whose contribution to the development of the industry is making a positive impact on society.
