Musician and apologist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Berlinda Nana Ekua Amoah, aka Mzbel has lauded President Akufo Addo for fulfilling his Free Senior High School campaign promise.

The artiste who had riled the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its policies prior to the 2016 elections, took to her Facebook page to share her experience of the new policy which takes effect today [Monday] in public senior high schools across the country.

“Free Education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo!!! Hahaha. Nana well done oo. Unto the next level. One Corner Dancer. Insha Allah,” she wrote.

Starting today [Monday], 11th September, 2017, the government will fund the cost of public Senior High Schools for all those who qualify for entry from the 2017/2018 academic year onward.

The policy is beginning with those who entered school this academic year, which means continuing students are not covered.

Earlier this year, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo said that “…there will be no admission fees, no library fees, no science centre fees, no computer lab fees, no examination fees, no utility fees; there will be free textbooks, free boarding and free meals, and day students will get a meal at school for free.”

He further stated that, the “free SHS will also cover agricultural, vocational and technical institutions at the high school level.  I also want to state clearly again that we have a well-thought out plan that involves the building of new public Senior High Schools and cluster public Senior High Schools”.

Mzbel’s post on Facebook shows her and a boy (possibly her son) holding a paper (supposedly prospectus) in an environment that looks like the administration block of Achimota School.

However, it is unclear whether her post is real or sarcastic.

Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known in showbiz as Mzbel has spoken again about Christianity after she was heavily mauled for saying she did not believe in Jesus Christ, few years ago.

This time, her thought about Christianity has gone beyond her disbelief in Jesus Christ; she thinks Christianity is idol-worship.

“Me, I think it is idol worshipping because I wonder why people will put an image of a white man in their chapel and worship it. Some even have to picture the image in their minds while praying,” she said.

In chat with Zionfelix on ‘Celebrity Ride,’ she explained that the reason she said she did not believe in Jesus was that God is a merciful God who doesn’t need to kill another person to forgive others’ sins.

“I don’t believe that God will have to commit murder to save sinners. If God will forgive your sins she will,” she noted.

However, Mzbel said she believes those who practice Christianity may have reasons they are in that religion but she will never go back to it.

“I believe in God but I don’t believe we have to pray through Jesus through God. I don’t believe that Jesus is God. But from Sunday school, people have been taught about Jesus so it is difficult to change their mind,” she added.

She said after not being content with Christianity, she tried other religions including Hare Krishna and realised it was also akin to paganism till she later met a Jewish teacher that took her through the old testament of the Bible.

According to her, the Old Testament is more applicable and realistic to science and human life.

Also on the show, Mzbel disclosed that she likes to date old men than the young ones. The ‘Saucy Gal’ singer told Zionfelix that she has dated more old men in her life because they are caring.

“I am an old man’s girlfriend. Everybody in Ghana knows that I don’t date young guys. If you are a young guy and I date you, I might break your heart. I like old men. They are very gentle,” Mzbel stated.

She added her love for the old men also has to do with the fact that they don’t like too much sex.

“They don’t also like sex. They can’t even have sex for long. You know, I don’t like sex like that. I like sex once in a while,” she quipped.

When asked if that could be the reason people speculate that UT boss, Kofi Amoabeng is the father of her child Aaron, she said she had said several times that she has no child with the UT boss.

‘Celebrity Ride’ is a celebrity chat show on Youtube hosted by blogger Felix Nana Yaw Adomako, popularly known as Zionfelix. He rides in town with celebs and has a hearty chat with them.
