Citizens of Saviefe living in the diaspora have donated computers to some schools back home, to support ICT education.

The donation of ten desktop computers worth GHC8000 according to the sons and daughters of the Ho West community, forms part of their resolve to support the community in areas of education and industrialization.

The natives, who mostly live in the United States of America’s communities including the capital, New York, California, Texas and Maryland, share a common social media platform where they deliberate on achieving common goals for their society back home aside helping themselves.

Presenting the items to the Chiefs and Heads of Basic Schools in the community, Miss Leila Dzansi, the leader of the team, who is also a Film Director at America’s famous Hollywood, said the items would go a long way to prepare the children in the community to rub shoulders with their colleagues in the global community.

The Saviefe EP United Primary School and D/A Junior High Schools, who are to benefit from the items, only have a classroom adapted as ICT Laboratory but without equipment.

In a remark, the Head Teacher, Tsawodzi Godsway, described the situation as unfortunate, and complained about poor ICT education to children in the school.

He thus believes the donation will go a long way to improve teaching and learning of ICT.

The area is noted for the production of plantain, Cassava, banana and cocoa, with women mostly engaged in Gari processing.

Miss Leila Dzansi therefore pleaded with government to support farming activities in the area by establishing a Gari Processing Factory for the people.

She also asked for the construction of a Senior High School in the area.

The event was graced by the Member of Parliament for the area, Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzra, and some notable citizens of Saviefe Traditional Area.
