Ari Behn told radio station P4 that it happened after the actor had hosted the event in 2007.

“I am a generous person, but this was a bit more than I had in mind,” said Behn, who was married to King Harald’s daughter Martha Louise until last year.

Spacey has been accused of sexual abuse and harassment by a string of men and has been written out of House of Cards.

A spokesman for Spacey said last month that he was “taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment” in the wake of the allegations.

Recalling the alleged incident, Behn said: “We had a great talk, he sat right beside me.

“After five minutes he said, ‘hey, let’s go out and have a cigarette’. Then he puts his hand under the table and grabs me by the balls.”

Behn said he put Spacey off by telling him: “Er, maybe later.”

He added: “My hair was dark at the time, I was 10 years younger and right up his alley.”

Last month, the Old Vic theatre in London said it had received 20 personal testimonies of alleged inappropriate behaviour by Spacey while he was artistic director there.

He has faced other allegations too, with the claims leaving his career in ruins.

He has been removed from the sixth season of House of Cards, which will instead focus on his on-screen wife, played by Robin Wright.

Spacey has also been replaced by Christopher Plummer in the new Ridley Scott film All the Money in the World.

His role in All the Money in the World is to be recast and his scenes reshot. The release is expected to go ahead as planned on 22 December.

Spacey, who was late oil tycoon John Paul Getty in the film, will be replaced by Christopher Plummer.

The claims against Spacey span from the mid-1980s to last year.

All the Money in the World, directed by Ridley Scott, is about the 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty’s teenage grandson.

Variety said that Spacey had shot about two weeks of footage and there were many scenes in the film where he was the only actor on screen.

He already appears in the film’s trailer, which was released in September.

Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams, who also star in the film, are expected to take part in the reshooting.

The movie has also been withdrawn from the American Film Institute’s (AFI) annual festival in Los Angeles later this month.

Spacey’s career has nosedived since the first allegation of sexual advances were made by actor Anthony Rapp on 30 October.

US network Netflix has axed further production of Mr Spacey’s House of Cards drama, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced it would no longer give the actor a special Emmy award, and his agent and publicist dropped him as a client.

Rapp accused Spacey of trying to seduce him when he was aged 14.

In response to Mr Rapp’s claims, Mr Spacey said he had no memory of the incident and offered an apology.

Since then several others have come forward accusing him of predatory behaviour, including a woman who said Spacey had sexually assaulted her 18-year-old son last year.

Spacey’s representatives say he is seeking unspecified treatment.

The Sun newspaper said a man, aged 23 at the time, made a complaint on Tuesday about the alleged incident in the London borough of Lambeth.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are investigating an alleged assault on a man from 2008.

They would not confirm the allegation was made against House of Cards actor and double Oscar winner Spacey.

Spacey said on Thursday that he is seeking treatment after facing allegations of sexual misconduct from a string of men.

No arrests

The Sun reported that a British actor claimed he woke up to find Spacey performing a sex act on him in 2008.

The man is said to have run from the property after Spacey allegedly said: “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

A spokesman for the Met said it had no record of any arrests having been made in connection with the investigation and police declined to comment on The Sun’s report, which says the complainant had been interviewed by police.

It comes after a number of allegations, including CNN reporting that Spacey made the set of Netflix’s House of Cards into a “toxic” work environment through a pattern of sexual harassment.

It said allegations were made by eight people who currently work on the show, or worked on it in the past, with one former employee alleging the actor sexually assaulted him.

Netflix suspended production on House of Cards on 31 October following allegations by Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey tried to “seduce” him when he was 14.

Spacey said he was “beyond horrified” to hear of the incident, which he does not remember.

US filmmaker Tony Montana also claimed he was groped by the actor in a Los Angeles bar in 2003.

Montana said he was left with PTSD for six months after he claims Spacey “forcefully” grabbed his crotch.

He is one of several Hollywood figures who have been accused of sexual misconduct. Dustin Hoffman has issued an apology while director Brett Ratner has been accused by six women.

A lawyer for Ratner, the director of the Rush Hour films and X-Men: The Last Stand, has “categorically” denied all of the accusations.

The allegations have been sparked by multiple women speaking out against the Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, and a subsequent campaign encouraging victims to share their stories of sexual harassment under the #metoo hashtag.

So who has been accused of misconduct?

New allegations have emerged from a number of men accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct.

US filmmaker Tony Montana claims he was groped by the actor in a Los Angeles bar in 2003. He says he was left with PTSD for six months after Spacey “forcefully” grabbed his crotch.

Mr Montana told Radar Online that he was in his 30s when the incident took place at the Coronet Bar in LA.

It follows an allegation made by Anthony Rapp that the House of Cards actor tried to “seduce” him when he was 14 years old.

Kevin Spacey says he has no recollection of that encounter, and was “beyond horrified”.

Incidents regarding Spacey are also alleged to have taken place in the UK while the two-time Oscar winner was the artistic director at the Old Vic in London between 2004 and 2015.

Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos, who acted in several plays at the theatre, claims Spacey “routinely preyed” on young male actors.

One man told the BBC about his experience of being invited to spend the weekend with Spacey in New York when he was a teenager in the 1980s.

The media streaming company said it was “deeply troubled” by the allegation, made by the actor Anthony Rapp.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Rapp alleged Spacey tried to seduce him when he was 14, after a party in 1986.

Spacey said he was “beyond horrified” to hear the story but did not remember the encounter.

Kevin Spacey said he owed Anthony Rapp a “sincere apology” for what he said would have been “deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour”.

Spacey also announced that he was now living “as a gay man” but the Oscar winning actor has been widely criticised for choosing this moment to come out.

Gay rights activists have said linking his sexuality to an apology over allegations of sexual harassment was harmful to the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community.

In House of Cards, Kevin Spacey plays the ruthless American politician Frank Underwood. The drama has been widely acclaimed and filming is currently on the sixth series.

While Netflix has said it will be the last, several reports have suggested that the producers had decided to end the series well before the allegation emerged.

Spacey, who was 26, said: “I honestly do not remember the encounter… but if I did behave then as he describes I owe him the sincerest apology.”

Spacey also revealed he was now living as a gay man after years of refusing to address rumours about his sexuality.

Rapp said he was sharing the story now after the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

The movie mogul has been accused by more than 50 women of a range of allegations ranging from rape to sexual harassment. Mr Weinstein has denied any claims of non-consensual sex.

The accusations have sparked a debate about inappropriate behaviour in the entertainment industry and beyond, and encouraged more people to share their experiences.

His final tweet said “everything I wanted to say about my experience is in that article, and I have no further comment about it at this time”.

In his interview with BuzzFeed News, the 46-year-old Star Trek: Discovery actor said he was sitting on the edge of a bed after the party – held in Spacey’s apartment in 1986 – when Oscar-winning Spacey, now 58, came into the bedroom.

“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me,” Rapp said.

“He was trying to seduce me… I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”

Rapp said he was able to go to the bathroom before he left.

Responding to the allegation, Spacey said he was “sorry for the feelings [Rapp] describes having carried with him all these years”.

He also addressed “stories” about his personal life, saying he had had relationships with both men and women and was now living as a gay man.

“I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behaviour.”

The erstwhile Kufuor administration carried out a cedi redenomination exercise in 2007.

Government, at the time said the purpose of the exercise was to address past episodes of high inflation rates and other economic challenges.

But delivering the IEA’s 2014 mid-year economic review of the country, Dr. Kwakye insisted the decision to redenominate Ghana’s currency was rather politically motivated.

He also attributed the decision to government’s intention to “create the impression that Ghana’s currency is of a very high value”

He was however quick to add that the government’s intent to make the cedi stronger at that time was an “illusion.”

“ That is an illusion. I thought that the best thing would have been to knock off just three zeros from the currency,” he said.

Dr. Kwakye said a country like the US has been able to save its currency from depreciating due to special mechanisms it has adopted over the years.

“If you go to the US, one cent which they introduced two hundred years ago is still in circulation…. Why doesn’t it go away? There are all kinds of mechanisms,” he explained.

The Economist is not the first to attribute Ghana’s economic challenges to the 2007 cedi redenomination.

Former President John Jerry John Rawlings, while delivering his address during the June 4 uprising at the Revolution Square last month attributed Ghana’s economic crises to the re-denomination exercise.

Falling short of calling for a re-visit to the state of the currency prior to 2007, Dr. Kwakye said the situation will make the cedi continue to depreciate against the dollar.

The IEA’s senior Economist also called for the cutting down of Ministries to help minimize government expenditure saying, “we had the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Aviation. A country that does not even have one airplane has a Ministry of Aviation…”
