Agogo, 38-year-old, suffered the stroke in January 2015, after retiring from football and now has Aphasia.

Junior Agogo is now being taken care of by his mother.

Aphasia is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write.

Aphasia is due to injury to the brain, especially from a stroke.

In some cases, it makes communications with the patient impossible. It is associated with difficulty to retrieve names of objects and inability to put together sentences.

Speaking for the first time after the stroke, Agogo in a BBC documentary published on Sunday, said the stroke left him lacking confidence, and he feels socially isolated.

Agogo played for Bristol Rovers between 2003 to 2006, before moving to Nottingham Forest.

Junior Agogo (real name Manuel Agogo), is a Ghanaian striker who made 140 appearances for the Rovers.

He joined from then Conference side Barnet, for a fee of £110,000 with Giuliano Grazioli moving to Underhill as part of the deal.

Agogo was a member of the Black Star squad that participated in 2008 African Cup of Nations which was hosted by Ghana.

Agogo joined Zamalek from English club Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2008, when the club was chaired by Mamdouh Abbas.

However, only nine months after joining Zamalek, the Ghanaian striker terminated his three-year contract with the White Castle over unpaid dues and reported the Egyptian side to FIFA.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport had ordered Zamalek to pay the Ghanaian striker, who retired from professional football in 2012, a total of 807,000 euros.

While speaking to El-Asema satellite channel on Monday, Mansour revealed that he already paid 250,000 euros to Agogo, although he wasn’t the one who signed him in the first place.

“I was supposed to pay the seventh installment of Agogo’s dues, but Mamdouh Abbas froze Zamalek’s assets so now we were unable to pay him,” continued Mortada.

Abbas had managed to freeze Zamalek bank accounts in March 2016 over unpaid dues, saying he loaned the club EGP42 million during his stint as president.

Mansour also had a message for FIFA saying, “Agogo’s money is still with Mamdouh Abbas, the government has frozen the assets. Zamalek is being threatened with a six-point deduction in the coming period if the situation is not resolved.”

“Before every important Zamalek game, previous players’ requests for late dues pile on us,” Mansour concluded.
Zamalek’s next game is against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final on October 15 in South Africa.

The 23-year-old broke into the Barca first team in 2007 but struggled to make an impression and moved to Roma for £10million before moving back to the Nou Camp last summer following loan spells at Milan and Ajax.

A statement issued through Stoke’s official Twitter account read: “#HolaBojan Stoke City are delighted to confirm the signing of @BoKrkic from @FCBarcelona on a 4-year deal”

It is a major coup for manager Mark Hughes who was spotted chatting to the Spaniard at Cheshire’s Rookery Hall two weeks ago.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates said last week: “Attacking players have been very much the focus for Mark since the end of last season and obviously Bojan would be another very good addition.”
