]]> Ghanaian artiste Elorm Adabla known in showbiz circles as EL has released a new song he co-wrote with his mother.

According to EL, he is so connected to the song because he wrote it with his mother, Elfrida Adabla.

“My mother wrote the words of the song. I edited it and made it into a song. So it’s pretty special,” he told Citi Showbiz.

“For almost a year now she’s been telling me she had a write-up she wanted me to turn into a song. So one day I got home and she handed to me a sheet of paper with these lyrics on. I am hard guy but when I read it I got touched so I took it, worked on it,” he added.

Titled ‘Joy,’ it is an inspirational song with lyrics that encourage one to work hard towards victory.

The song was produced by EL and Kuzie.

EL is a versatile Ghanaian musician and music producer who won the Artiste of the Year at 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Some of his hit records include ‘Obuu Mo,’ ‘Kaalu,’ ‘Auntie Martha,’ ‘Shelele,’ ‘Mi Naa Bo Po,’ ‘Koko, ’KaaBuAme,’ among others.

He releases an annual mixtape he calls “The BAR (Best African Rapper) and in 2017, he released the 4th one called BAR IV.

]]> The maiden edition of the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA was held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Florence Gould Hall Theatre in New York where many deserving winners were honored on the night.

One of such deserving winner was the King of GhComedy, DKB.

In a very keenly contested category, DKB walked away with the top prize as the comedian of the year. With no doubt the King would come top as one of the winners of the night, the excited comedian posted on his social media images of his award with the caption “DKB wins best Ghana Comedian in USA. Thanks to you for the massive support. Big respect to #DKBREPUBLIC. Don’t give up, enemies no be God.”

Reaching out to the comedian for a few words, he said “I was much honored to receive such an award, I would like this use award to urge the youth on to not give up and focus on their dreams and they would definitely achieve it”

Other winners on the night include EL, DJ Mensah, Okyeame Kwame, Efya, Lil win, Van Vicker, Yvonne Nelson, Medikal etc. The Ghana Entertainment Awards endeavor to exhibit the rich arts and culture of Ghana-West Africa; it serves to further internationalize the diversity of Ghanaian talents.

In addition, GEA provides public recognition and appreciation of artists, industry professionals, and honorees that demonstrate excellence and significant accomplishments in their entertainment fields such as DKB, the forerunner of comedy in Ghana.

]]> The Ghana Music Week Festival, which was scheduled to start Friday, October 21, 2016, has been postponed to December 30.

In a statement, the organisers of the festival stated that the postponement was to help them ‘fix a technical element.’

“The postponement has become very necessary to enable the organisers fix a technical element, responsible for delivering an unprecedented event-experience per GMW-UK concept,” the statement stated.

“The postponement would give us even more time to market the event adequately for the right impact, considering that GMW-UK primarily aims at marketing and driving the right traffic to the main festival in Ghana next March.”

The statement was signed by Freddie Annang, who is the chairman of the GMW-UK planning committee.

Stonebwoy is the headline artiste of the festival, with EL and Amakye Dede also performing.
