During the performance, she ministered Israel and New Breed’s gospel song, ‘Alpha and Omega,’ then took a foray into Suzzie & Matt’s song of appellations.

The audience who got into the worship frenzy, sang along with her, turning the atmosphere at the theatre into a veritable crusade.

Known for singing secular songs, many patrons were surprised at her gospel performance which got streams of tears flowing down her eyes.

The event which had other big acts like Sarkodie, Kwame Eugene and others on the bill saw Efya also performing her songs and a mashup of other popular Ghanaian compositions.

The concert dubbed the ‘Bow Out’ edition of Girl Talk which was held on 27^th December, 2017 would be the last for Efya who has headlined it for 3 years.

Before she took over, Becca was the headline act of the show. She really did well with projecting the brand till she laid it down for Efya.

As of now it is unknown which female artiste Palm Media, the organisers will settle on for the next edition but they have hinted that it is possible they might go for a foreign female artiste.

According to, Mr. Patrick Prado, the Managing Director, the Allianz Awards 2017 is about “celebrating Ghanaian men and women who have defied all odds to prove that the world belongs to those who dare.”

Allianz Awards 2017 promises to be a magical night with special guest appearances as well as music performances by Efya, an icon of girl power, and M.anifest, one of the top emcees in Ghana, and others. The Ghana amputee football team, “The Black Challenge” will also be present as event ambassadors.

About the Award

The awards to be presented on the night will take the form of the Adinkra symbol Kwatekye Atiko, which represents bravery, valor, fearlessness and leadership.

This ancient symbol has four bars – said to symbolize arms and legs – pointing out in opposite directions and two spirals curling in towards the center. The bars remind us to reach out and grasp what can help us or protect ourselves by warding off what cannot.

The spirals encourage us to look within ourselves – mind and spirit – for the strength to endure, the wisdom to make the right choices and the patience to await things all in their proper time.

In this way Kwatekye Atiko reminds us not only to hope but also gather all the facts, learn all we can about what we are up against and then focus on what can be done.

Announcing the release of the new single, Until the Dawn, on Instagram, the artiste disclosed that the song will be available to music lovers, on June 10, 2017.

Until the Dawn is produced by British-born Nigerian record producer and recording artist, Maleek Berry.

Maleek Berry has previously produced music for numerous artistes such as Mr. Eazi and Yemi Alade as well as UK-based Fuse ODG.

Efya is coming off a trip to the United States where she picked up of the “Best Female Act” award at the Ghana Entertainment Awards in New York. She also graced the Sound of Brazil club with a performance.

On announcing the release of the new song, Efya’s Instagram was flooded with comments from many exciting fans.

Amongst those to show some love and support for Efya’s upcoming were Edem, Reggie Rockstone and Kwaw Kese, amongst other Ghanaian celebrities.

Songstress Efya has been honoured as the best female act, at the Ghana Entertainment Awards, in New York.

The singer who has had amazing collaborations with musicians like Ice Prince, recently performed at the prestigious SOBs in New York and received a lot of praise from Ghanaians.

In an Instagram post, Efya assured her fans of being, “willing and able” to make them proud, as she continued to say “thank you for my award”.

The highlight of the night, came when Efya took the stage to perform her live ensemble of songs. The songstress took the crowd on a journey, performing songs from her inception year and others from her latest Janesis album.

Speaking to Efya, she said, “it’s always a pleasure to be appreciated. But the greatest joy is seeing my brothers and sisters win with me. So I want to congratulate everyone who came out and won something, on the night.”

With some people preferring the loud escapes, there are still a bunch others that desire the intimacy and serenity. This is what Sandbox Beach Club, had in mind, wind planning a three-day extravaganza.

The three days of Easter will be celebrated at Sandbox Beach-South La, with singers Efya and MzVee, DJ Vyrusky and a few others.

The event which kicks off on Saturday 15th April, with thrilling performances from Efya.

The events then continue on Sunday 16th April, with MzVee taking on the crowd and concludes with a joint set with both artistes on Monday, April 17th.

Speaking to the teams of both musicians, they expressed excitement and readiness; promising a thrilling output from the stars.
