Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Her Excellency Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa, has assured Ghanaians in Denmark that she would operate an open-door policy in her running of the Embassy.

The Ambassador with concurrent accreditation to Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland, has been visiting several churches dominated by Ghanaians to introduce herself and get firsthand information about their concerns in the country.

Four churches including the International Central Gospel Church, International Harvest Centre, International City Baptist Church and Pentecost, welcomed her, as the excited congregation were pleased to engage and present their grievances to the Ambassador.

“I am focused on government’s Diaspora Engagement policy, and how Ghana can get the most out of her abundant skilled diaspora population “, she stated during her visit.

Ambassador Awua-Asamoa, on September 15, presented her letters of credence to Her Majesty the Queen Denmark, Maragarette II at the Amalienborg Royal Palace in Copenhagen.

She is expected to soon present similar letters of credence to the heads of State of the other Nordic countries she has oversight over, before embarking on similar engagement programs in those countries.

Come back home to help Ghana – Ambassador urges Ghanaians in Denmark

Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Her Excellency Mrs. Amerley Ollenu Awua-Asamoa, in a recent interview with Citi News’ Bernard Avle in Denmark, appealed to skilled Ghanaians in the country to return home as often as possible, to support Ghana’s development Agenda.

Speaking at a reception by her office to welcome four Ghanaian journalists on a press trip at the invitation of the Danish Government, Her Excellency Mrs. Amerley Ollenu Awua-Asamoa, said Government’s policy of diaspora engagement is aimed at attracting Ghana’s high quality manpower to help bring home the needed investment to drive the government’s industrialization agenda.

Danish Queen set for two-day visit to Ghana in November

In a related development, the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II, will pay a state visit to Ghana from Thursday, November 23 to Friday, November 24.

According to a statement from the Danish Embassy, the visit follows an invitation from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the country’s Head of State.

The statement added that “the state visit will emphasize and consolidate the long-standing and well-established relationship between Ghana and Denmark, while at the same time marking the gradual transition from aid to trade.”

Ghana and Denmark have enjoyed strong commercial ties over the years, and this visit by the Queen, who will be joined by representatives of Danish companies and business organisations, is expected to strengthen those bonds.

After a long period of silence, dancehall diva Kaakie has released a hot new single titled Ronaldo. The song released online is produced by her trusted producer JMJ and is on the Xtra Large record label.

According to Kaakie, she had been silent on the music scene because she needed time to concentrate on her education. She has successfully completed her degree programme in nursing and is back to prove that she is the best female dancehall artiste, hence the title Ronaldo.

“While they (the other musicians) were busy making so much noise I watched and laughed behind the scenes. I’ve done over 10 new studio jobs and didn’t even know which to drop first. But I finally settled on #Ronaldo. I dribble their thoughts like Cristiano Ronaldo and I am very matchless on the scene with full dominance on the scene,” she said.

She added that while she was away she heard people comparing her to babies “yet  those babies with their noise couldn’t even go beyond Nsawam.”

Kaakie seems to be back with a bang and her comments are set to cause a stir in the dancehall fraternity as she brags that she is the “female dancehall nonpareil in Africa and my fan base keeps spreading like cancer – I do classic songs that are ageless so I have no time to worry about toddlers. So much love for my music – the numbers keep multiplying from Gabon, Gambia, Zambia, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Cameroun, Nigeria and even Mauritius. I’m very busy, I’m on another level now. They ain’t seen anything yet!”

Kaakie’s single is yet to hit the radio, but it’s already buzzing on various social media platforms and has seen a lot of downloads.
