The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has charged the people of Sissala not to vote for the two main political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, both parties are bad for Ghana and for the electorates in the upcoming polls hence must be rejected.

He accused both parties of being the cause of the country’s woes saying, they succeeded in plunging the country into economic hardship during their respective terms in office.

Addressing party faithful at Sakai in the Sissala East constituency of the Upper West region, Mr Greenstreet said the Convention People’s Party is the only credible party that can meet their development aspirations.

He accused President Mahama of failing to honour his promise of tarring the major road in Tumu.

He said the President Mahama displayed gross disrespect respect when he visited the constituency in a helicopter to ask for their votes.

He said the NPP government, led by President John Kufuor also failed to ensure development in the area.

‘NDC, NPP nation wreckers’

While on a campaign platform in the Northern Region last week, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as nation wreckers for which reason they should be rejected at the polls.

According to him, the two major political parties have for the past 24 years failed to develop the country.

He said, “everywhere we go Ghanaians are tired of all the fighting of the NDC and the NPP who are fighting to get power to steal our hope and take money for themselves and their family members”

“Separate the fight of these two evil monsters, two parties which are merely racketeers. Enough is enough, enough of these 24 years of hell from these monsters. Fellow Ghanaians it is time to end it.”

A member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Kwesi Pratt has said his party’s election of Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as its flagbearer was not a mistake.

According to him, they would prefer a candidate who has challenges in his limb to those with weaknesses in their “thinking abilities.”

Mr. Pratt made the comment when addressing CPP supporters at the launch of the party’s manifesto in Accra on Saturday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”xLdnVkQwPk8tQOrsRc2ptDANqYneHvEW”]“There are so many things that we hear and sometimes we just laugh them off. There are some people who think that we made a mistake in electing Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party.

“Why do they say that we made a mistake? Because he has some weakness in his lower limb? We prefer people with lower limb weakness to people with weakness in their thinking abilities. We prefer people with weaknesses in their lower limbs to people with weaknesses in their moral upbringing. We did not make a mistake by electing Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as a presidential candidate,” he added.

We’ll crucify NDC, NPP

The CPP flagbearer announced that he will crucify the governing National Democratic Congress and the opposition New Patriotic Party in the December polls to win the presidency.

Addressing party supporters at the launch of the party’s manifesto dubbed ‘Apam foforo’ at the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Ivor Greenstreet announced the party’s strategy to snatch power from the two leading parties.

“The central committee of the party agrees with the national chairman of this campaign known as crucifixion and resurrection. And that means we are going to crucify the NDC and the NPP. So…we want you to go back knowing what kind of change we are talking about.”

“This is how our change is going to be.. Our friend and our brother H.E John Dramani Mahama, we are sorry but your time is up and our father Nana Akuffo Addo of the NPP, Nana we are sorry, before the change comes we will block the two of them and change,” he added.

A president under the Convention People’s Party (CPP) administration will pay taxes like the  the average Ghanaian does.

This according to the party would set an example for others to follow.

[contextly_sidebar id=”bdKWD2HOLq3zFfqmayI7aQnn42x3ECfq”]The information was captured in the CPP’s 2016 manifesto which was released yesterday, Saturday, October 29, 2016.

A Ghanaian president per the Constitution is exempted from paying taxes on his or her salary, allowance, facilities, pension and gratuity.

However the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) has recommended that, the constitution should be amended to allow Ghanaian Presidents to pay tax.

Though the recommendations are yet to be adopted, the CPP which derived the taxation of its president from the commission’s work said it will compel “the president to pay taxes like the rest of Ghanaians (leadership by example).”

The CPP also in its manifesto promised to make the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive position electable and also abolish the death penalty which was all recommended by the CRC.

The party also said if given the nod in the December 7 elections, it will separate the Minister of Justice from the Attorney General’s deparment and also prevent Members of Parliament from serving as ministers.
