The estranged Hollywood film stars have “signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues,” Jolie and Pitt said in a statement obtained by CNN.

“The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”

Jolie and Pitt have been in the midst of a bitter public divorce and custody battle over their children, some of which has played out on gossip television and in the tabloids.

Jolie Pitt, 41, who filed court papers in September to end their marriage, is seeking sole custody of the couple’s six children.

Pitt was cleared by the FBI and social workers over allegations that he struck one of his children during a flight that month from France to Los Angeles.

Pitt, 53, who won a best film Oscar for producing “12 Years a Slave”, is seeking joint legal and physical custody.

He has been granted visits supervised by a therapist as part of a temporary custody agreement.

Under a current arrangement, Jolie has physical custody of the children — three of whom are adopted — at a rented LA house.

The A-listers — given the celebrity moniker “Brangelina” — got married in France in August two years ago, but had been a couple since 2004.

A child welfare agency in Los Angeles is examining what happened during the incident on a private flight in mid-September, US media say.

The actors have reached a temporary agreement so the Fight Club star can visit his children while the welfare investigation continues.

California divorce courts generally favour joint custody, but the outcome of the plane row could affect the judge’s decision. The actors may also hammer out a deal privately to avoid the matter being aired in public.

Mr Pitt’s custody request was included in his response to Ms Jolie’s divorce petition. He revealed that the pair separated on 15 September, one day after the alleged plane altercation.

Mr Pitt and Ms Jolie have been together since 2004 but only wed in August 2014, at their children’s urging. They grew close while filming the 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith, in which they played a couple in a stagnant relationship.

Their union was Mr Pitt’s second marriage, after a divorce from Friends star Jennifer Aniston, and Ms Jolie’s third after Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

The couple have six children together – Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, who are adopted, and biological children Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Mr Pitt, 52, and Ms Jolie, 41, married privately at their French estate in Provence. Their children served as ring bearers and helped illustrate Ms Jolie’s white Versace dress with their drawings.

Both actors are known for their philanthropic work away from the screen.

Academy Award winner Ms Jolie became a special envoy for the United Nations in 2012, and is a passionate advocate for refugees. She has also raised awareness of breast and ovarian cancers after going public with her decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

Meanwhile, Mr Pitt built homes in New Orleans for victims of Hurricane Katrina, and has made sizeable aid donations to Haiti through the estranged couple’s charity, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

The terms were reached on Friday with the help of the Los Angeles County Department Of Children And Family Services.

The deal involves Angelina, 41, getting physical custody of all six kids, a source close to the situation told DailyMail.com.
Brad, 52, will get an initial monitored visit followed by other visits that may or may not be monitored. He has also volunteered to get random drug testing, and the entire family will undergo counseling.
The source added: ‘This temporary agreement will last until October 20. This is a completely voluntary agreement that has a structured decision-making plan. Neither Brad nor Angelina were forced to get counseling, they both volunteered to do so for the sake of the family.’
There was no longstanding agreement about custody in place, the insider also explained to DailyMail.com.
‘There has been no ruling, this was just a completely voluntary agreement,’ stressed the insider.
And Pitt was not pushed to have a monitored visit.
‘There was also no requirement for any kind of monitoring. Both Brad and Angelina decided between them that the first visit would be done with a therapist. There was absolutely nothing mandated.’

Pitt’s representative had no comment on the report.
According to TMZ, DCFS told the couple they had to make a deal now or go to court. They both agreed to make a decision quickly, it was alleged, for the benefit of the children.
Angelina gets physical custody of the children with Brad having visitation with certain restrictions.
When the Troy actor has his first visit, a therapist will be there. Their six children include Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

The therapist then will suggest to either allow Brad subsequent unmonitored visits or insist on being present whenever he’s around the kids, it was added.

Brad will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing, something he volunteered to do.
TMZ, which claims to have talked to law enforcement sources, reported that the actor already went in for a urine test and it came out negative for alcohol and drugs.

There were no more specifics about the individual counseling that Brad and Angelina have suggested they do.

It was added that the entire family will have family counseling together.
The FBI has said it is gathering evidence about allegations Pitt was involved in a dispute on a private flight with his family on September 14, although the agency has not opened a formal investigation. Sources familiar with the allegations have said they center on the actor’s treatment of his son Maddox.

Several outlets have reported that the incident was being investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, but the agency said it could not confirm whether it was involved.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19 and sought sole physical custody. They have been together for 12 years but wed in 2014 in France. Pitt has yet to respond with his own filing.
It was earlier claimed by TMZ that the two Hollywood veterans have still not come to an agreement on permanent financial support and property.

They own several homes together, including a compound in the Hollywood Hills and the stunning $60m Chateau Miraval estate in France.

Their combined fortune is estimated at $400m.
Both People and Entertainment Tonight have reported the two actors were meeting all week to hash out a deal. The negotiations have been private and believed to be held in Los Angeles.

The Maleficent star has been staying with the children at a rental in Malibu and it is believed Pitt is at his compound in the Hollywood Hills.

It has also been speculated that Jolie might want to move to London after she is done with the divorce. On Wednesday People reported that was not true.

This temporary deal comes after it has been claimed the Tomb Raider star has hired crisis manager Judy Smith, the woman who inspired the hit TV show Scandal, according to UsWeekly.
Smith owns Smith & Company, one of the most reputable crisis management firms in the nation. She has worked with Monica Lewinsky, Michael Vick and Paula Deen.

On Wednesday UsWeekly ran a cover story on the split.
It was claimed by a source: ‘[He] became a big yeller. And she would not tolerate him yelling at the kids. There were a few times Angie said she was terrified.’

But another source said it was not scary. ‘When he raises his voice and yells at the kids, it’s almost comical. He’s not one of those guys with a temper. He’s not a drill sergeant.’
And wile Brad wanted to stay in one place, Angelina was more interested in having the brood travel the world with them, it was claimed.

The Gia star preferred a more relaxed attitude with the kids, it was alleged, while Brad liked more traditional rules.
‘Brad wants them to have a normal upbringing and worries that they’ll come out spoiled, elitist and not grounded,’ a source told UsWeekly as far back as 2009.

‘But Angie feels they should be “children of the world.” They argue about it all the time: heated, screaming fights.’

Sources added that he asked the kids to clean up after themselves and adhere to a normal bed time.
‘Brad teaches them to be respectful human beings,’ it was added by an insider.

The weekly also added that they were living in separate wings of his 80,000 sq ft Hollywood Hills estate.

The insider also revealed to UsWeekly that the former couple were fighting more and more ahead of the break-up.
‘Their arguments progressively became more frequent,’ the source said.

On Friday UsWeekly spoke to Angelina’s former bodyguard that claimed she and Pitt would make out on the set of the 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith. He was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time.
Aniston was seen in New York City that same day leaving her apartment alone.

Jolie has asked for physical custody of the couple’s six children, asking the judge to give Pitt visitation rights.

The FBI told the BBC: “In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued.”

Pitt released a statement to People magazine after Jolie filed for divorce, saying he was “saddened”, and adding: “What matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Jolie’s lawyer, Robert Offer, said the decision to divorce had been made “for the health of the family”.

Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services said it could not confirm or deny whether it was investigating Pitt because of confidentiality laws.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has said it is not investigating actor Brad Pitt in connection with reports of allegations regarding his children, following claims they were looking into the matter.

They told the BBC: “The LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr Brad Pitt.”

“I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up.

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need.

“Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn’t distressing.

Pitt, 52, had been rumored to have been cozying up to his “Allied’’ co-star Marion Cotillard, 40, for months during the pair’s filming of the World War II drama in London.

The PI discovered that Pitt was cheating on his wife of two years with Cotillard — while also partying like a single guy on a mission, the source said.

“The atmosphere [off-set] was full of hard drugs and Russian hookers, and Angie was told Brad got caught up in it,’’ the source said.

“He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”

But a source close to Cotillard denied the Pitt affair rumors and insisted she is still with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Canet.

“They are still very much together. They have been a couple since 2007 and have one child but have never married,’’ the source said of Cotillard and Canet.
The source could not confirm French reports that Cotillard is pregnant with her second child with Canet.

“The older she gets, the more serious she becomes, and she is sick of the Hollywood thing,’’ the second source said.

“He wants to make movies. She doesn’t. It’s a fundamental difference. It’s how you live your life.’’

Making matters worse, Pitt is closer to Jolie’s famous actor dad, Jon Voight, than she is, the source said.

“Jon’s a Hollywood guy, and she’s been estranged. Brad hangs out with her father more than she does,’’ the source said.

Another source told TMZ that Jolie believes that her hubby’s drinking and pot-smoking is affecting their kids.

Add to that his “anger problem,” and the mom of six said enough is enough, the source told the website.

Jolie filed for divorce Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

She is seeking physical custody of the couple’s kids, TMZ said. She doesn’t want Pitt to have joint physical custody, just joint legal custody. He would get visitation, according to her filing.

Jolie is not seeking spousal support, the website said.

Brangelina’s French chateau, Miraval — where the couple married in August 2014 — has been quietly on the market for a few months, and locals were told they were selling it because they are breaking up, a source told The Post.
