President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ended his three-day visit to the Northern Region with a firm assurance that he will not be an armchair President.

According to him, regional tours will feature prominently in his administration since he’s a grassroots politician.

This in his estimation will ensure that he is in constant touch with Ghanaians who overwhelmingly gave him the mandate to govern.

President Nana Addo’s remark followed the Dagbon Regent, Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani’s complaint that some of his appointees’ attitude is undermining the role of chiefs in promoting good governance.

To prove this, he left the Presidential Lodge at the Regional Coordinating Council, and lodged in a Hotel where he always stayed as the main opposition leader over the years.

There, President Nana Addo was easily accessible to people who desired to meet him for discussions.

His presence at the OIC spot in Tamale to dine and wine with the masses who attended Vice President, Alhaji, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 54th birthday celebration, created a huge opportunity for people to fraternize with him.

President Nana Addo climaxed his tour visiting the Kpembewura’s palace at Salaga, and the Avnash rice processing plant at Nyankpala in the TOLON district.

Beginning his address at the Kpembewura’s palace in Salaga, President Nana Addo asked the gathering to observe a minute prayer for the departed souls of the Atomic gas explosion.

He thanked the Kpembewura, Haruna Daari Bismark, who on Friday September 2, 2016, predicted over 53% victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the last general elections.

He assured the chiefs and people of Kpembe that all their request will be granted.

President Nana Addo indeed commended the electorate there for delivering the Salaga South Constituency out of the seven Parliamentary seats in Gonjaland, of which the Kpembewura is the traditional head to the NPP.

The Kpembewura Haruna Daari Bismark implored government to complete the Salaga-Tamale road project.

He bemoaned the abandoned Salaga new hospital project started by the Kufour administration, and pleaded with government to complete it.

He said residents of Salaga have been thirsty over the years, and expected that problem will be fixed since a royal of Kpembe, Dr. Clifford Braimah is the Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited.

He thanked government for implementing the free SHS policy, but called for infrastructure expansion. President Nana Addo as usual worshiped God at the Tamale Anglican Church.

He also attended the final funeral rites of the late Sheikh Abdullah Jabir at Zogbeli.

Ghanaians will be given the chance to support the Black Stars in the upcoming 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil through the Flag of Vim campaign.

The Flag of Vim is one giant flag of Ghana which will travel the length and breadth of the country, collecting signatures of fans everywhere.

It will feature signatures from the Presidency, Parliament, Judiciary, private sector workers, public sector workers, school children, religious bodies and any Ghanaian who wants to give the Black Stars vim as they take on giants like Portugal, Germany and USA.

Each signature will carry the hope of the person signing it and it will be his or her expression of support for the Black Stars in their quest for glory.

This June, the Black Stars of Ghana will make their third appearance at the finals of football’s biggest competition; the World Cup.

Since the final whistle of the last qualifier match with the Pharaohs of Egypt, there’s been a lot of hype building towards the competition itself.

There is no doubt, that football is the one thing in Ghana that transcends ethnic, religious and political lines in Ghana.

Some past coaches of the national team complained that Ghana actually has 25 million coaches. Everyone has a strong opinion about how each player must play, and how each game must go.

It is undisputed that football is a national passion and when it comes to supporting the Black Stars, everyone is on the same page.

The unfortunate thing about this World Cup is that government has announced its ability to send only a fraction of the supporters to Brazil to cheer the Black Stars on compared to the last World Cup in South Africa.

This is due to the significant cost involved in making the round trip. It has been reported that to be able to travel to Brazil, attend the matches and settle all attending fees, each fan will need to budget $13,500.

Clearly, this means that relatively few supporters can make it to Brazil in person to cheer our Stars on.

In light of this challenge, many corporate organizations have stepped up to the task and designed attractive sponsorship packages to enable many ardent supporters make the expensive trip to Brazil to cheer the Black Stars.

This has been met with great applause and patronage. However, even with the all the additional sponsorship, millions of football lovers are stranded in their desire to express their love for football and support for the Black Stars.

The Flag of Vim will be flown to Brazil and officially handed over to the Black Stars. As it hangs on their hotel and in the stadium, it will invoke in the Stars, the faith of a nation, the hope of a people.

The Flag of Vim will be touring the country from [26th May, 2014] to [9th June, 2014]. Football lovers interested in signing the Flag of Vim should be on the lookout for it in all regional capitals.

Finally, Ghana can have an overwhelming presence in Brazil, with the signatures of millions to show for it.

The Flag of Vim campaign is a Lym Haus Solutions initiative; a leading creative communications company in Ghana.

Further details about exact locations and dates as well as sponsorship for this campaign can be found on the Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/lymhaus.
