]]> The Argentine police have arrested a second high-level official in the administration of former President Cristina Fernandez on suspicion of corruption.

Amado Boudou was her economy minister and vice-president and faces three charges of “illicit enrichment” dating back to 2009.

Last month Mrs Fernandez’s former planning minister was arrested.

Amado Boudou has denied any wrong-doing.

The three charges against him refer to 2009, the year when he was promoted from heading Argentina’s social security administration to become Mrs Fernandez’s economy minister.

He became vice-president in 2011, when she was re-elected.
Mr’s Fernandez’s former Planning Minister Julio de Vido was arrested on25 October, three days before mid-term elections.

Mrs Fernandez herself is also facing corruption charges but has immunity from prosecution since being elected as a senator in the October polls.

She was indicted last year on charges that she and her public works secretary, Jose Lopez, embezzled money meant for road projects.

Mr Lopez was arrested last year after he was caught trying to hide bags of cash in a Catholic convent.

]]> Lamudi, the global online real estate marketplace, has announced yet another milestone, reaching the 5,000 listings mark. The online real estate portal, which achieved 400 listings in less than one month of its existence, has again outdone itself, with this new milestone reached within a period of seven months.

This merely shows how the real estate industry in Ghana is moving from offline to online at a record pace.

Lamudi Ghana, started operations in Ghana in November 2013, and has been going from strength to strength. The online real estate marketplace has not only provided a platform for real estate businesses, but also connected thousands of homeowners to their dream property.

Managing Director of Lamudi, Akua Nyame-Mensah, shared her excitement at this major landmark: “We at Lamudi are proud to have reached 5,000 listings within this short period and it is testament to the hard work this team has put in. We also owe it to our esteemed partners in the real estate industry as well as the many cherished home owners who have contributed to this success. We would like everyone to brace themselves for bigger things to come.”

Lamudi is not only concerned with achieving a high subscriber base, but strives to always provide the highest quality standards. The online real estate portal has a quality control team that focuses on contacting property owners and agents about properties they have uploaded and has a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud to protect house hunters.

In June, Lamudi launched the world’s first Android app for house hunters and followed this up on Apple’s iOS platform.
