Angry members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth group called Young Patriotic Forum in the Northern Region have heavily descended on the party\u2019s chief scribe, Kwabena Agyepong describing him as a \u201cdictator.\u201d<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”0DxS5dBFii03nlu4CJpiTjimXMmslcRt”]They have kicked against his decision to withdraw a former NPP national Chairman, Peter Mac Manu as the party\u2019s representative on the Electoral Commission\u2019s Electoral Reform Committee.<\/p>\n
In a statement copied Citi News, the group\u2019s Chairman and a former NPP Northern Regional Deputy youth Organizer, Abubakari Iddrisu Aloma described Kwabena Agyepong\u2019s action as needless.<\/p>\n
He therefore called for the reinstatement of the Peter Mac Manu who the group is convinced has the pedigree to represent the party at that level.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an established fact that Peter Mac Manu has vast knowledge and experience in the field of electoral reforms: Indeed, he consults internationally for other countries and he is well appraised for his input.\u201d<\/p>\n
He fumed, \u201cIt is therefore very difficult to understand why he has been kicked out despite his grasp of the topic, the issue of electoral reforms is very crucial to the next elections and we cannot afford to play around it: this decision by the GS is unpopular and cynical.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iddrisu Aloma advised Kwabena Agyepong to stop creating what he referred to as \u201cNeedless confusion\u201d in the party and rather concentrate on mapping out calculated strategies to wrestle power from the governing National Democratic Congress in 2016.<\/p>\n
He further cautioned Kwabena Agyepong against any attempt to bite more than he can chew as the General Secretary.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that the GS has too much to grapple with and to add to this tedious job which needs meticulous attention: the day to day administration of the party General Secretary is already demanding and particularly challenging and we think that the GS should concentrate his time and allow others to help where they are needed.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Young Patriotic Forum has by extension petitioned the NPP National Council and emphasized the need to reinstate Peter Mac Manu to do the job he knows best.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is the best man and save pair of hands we have in his vexed matter: as future leaders of this great party we are concerned and hope that our plea will be heard.\u201d<\/p>\n
