Liberia is expected to reopen its borders following a decline in the number of Ebola cases being reported in the country.<\/p>\n

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who made the announcement on Friday said nationwide curfews would also be lifted.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”aJcRsxPVG0zdh5L4R9iINliXGBKI6Sq9″]According to the BBC, new\u00a0infections have dropped to one-tenth of the level seen when the virus was at its peak.<\/p>\n

But health officials warned the reduction has levelled off in the last month.<\/p>\n

Borders were closed down in 2014 and an overnight curfew was imposed as part of measures to halt a further spread of the disease.<\/p>\n

Schools in Liberia have also reopened in recent weeks in a bid to help the country return to normal while staff have been given thermometers to take pupils’ temperatures and buckets of chlorinated water for them to wash their hands.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Ghana’s government has lifted the ban<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>on the organisation of international conferences in the country.<\/p>\n

A statement issued Febuary, 19th, 2015 and signed by the Minister for Communications, Dr. Omane Boamah, said government has lifted the ban forthwith until otherwise directed.<\/p>\n

“The moratorium placed on the holding of International Conferences in Ghana on account of the recent Ebola outbreak in the sub-region, has been lifted forthwith until otherwise directed,\u201d the statement indicated.<\/p>\n
