Government has lifted the ban on the organization of international conferences in the country.<\/p>\n
It is recalled that following the Ebola scourge in the West African Sub-region the government of Ghana in August 2014, placed a ban on international conferences, as a measure to prevent the deadly disease in Ghana.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”ow3pWrg65WdVsH1wUvfflakVo1tNa2e5″]However a statement issued today Febuary, 19th, 2015 and signed by the Minister for Communications, Dr. Omane Boamah, said government has lifted the ban forthwith until otherwise directed.<\/p>\n
“Consistent with the firm decision of the ECOWAS Commission that all meetings and missions be suspended unless absolutely essential and well-guided, a moratorium was subsequently placed on all international conferences and international gatherings which had the potential of spreading the Ebola Virus. ………the moratorium placed on the holding of International Conferences in Ghana on account of the recent Ebola outbreak in the sub-region, has been lifted forthwith until otherwise directed,” it said.<\/p>\n
It added that “government reviewed and evaluated the interventions instituted to prevent the deadly Ebola Viral Disease in Ghana.”<\/p>\n
The outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus had a heavy toll on Ghanaian business with hotels being affected the most.<\/p>\n
