The National Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has condemned the New Patriotic Party\u2019s(NPP)\u00a0\u2018W\u0254ngbo\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/span> \u00a0demonstration insisting that the NPP is responsible for the current energy crisis.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”GyeU16fRmswzlmJS1w40p8YI8DhoyX4H”]Members of Ghana\u2019s largest opposition party, \u00a0NPP including its 2016 flag bearer, Nana Akufo Addo poured onto the streets on Wednesday to protest against the erratic power situation in the country.<\/p>\n

But speaking in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> shortly after the protest, Kofi Adams criticized the protestors advising them to rather channel their frustration at former President\u00a0John Agyekum Kufour who he accused of being responsible for the current crisis.<\/p>\n

\u2018Their demonstration is not going to solve any problem, it has rather taking away from the proper discourse of this subject.”<\/p>\n

“If President Kufour and the NPP had continued the program laid down by President Rawlings, we will not have been in the situation we find ourselves today,” Kofi Adams insisted.<\/p>\n

He further urged members of the NPP to rather collaborate with government to quickly resolve the problems.<\/p>\n

“We are more than convinced that what we are doing what will take us out of this problem but want them to provide us with alternatives, they should tell us what they would have done that this government is not doing.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile\u00a0the National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sidii Abubakar has also described the \u00a0\u2018W\u0254n Gbo\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/span> demonstration as needless.<\/p>\n

This he said is because the president has admitted the effects of the power crisis and is subsequently working towards addressing the problem hence rendering the demonstration counter-productive.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi News, <\/strong>Sidii Abubakar explained that though \u201cI am not saying that Ghanaians are not feeling the dumsor problem\u201d he said there was the need \u201cto also acknowledge the fact that his Excellency President Mahama is not sitting down unconcerned.\u201d<\/p>\n

He cited the emergency power barges<\/strong><\/a><\/span> that being secured from Turkey as some of the initiatives government has adopted\u00a0to ensure that the power crisis is mitigated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at the emergency power barges, all these things are quick move that his Excellency is doing just to make sure that Ghanaians are happy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
