{"id":91847,"date":"2015-02-16T12:25:18","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T12:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=91847"},"modified":"2015-02-16T12:25:18","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T12:25:18","slug":"police-clears-npp-for-w%e2%86%84n-gbo-demo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=91847","title":{"rendered":"Police clears NPP for &#8216;W\u2184n Gbo&#8217; demo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been given the clearance for its <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/02\/10\/npp-sets-feb-18-dumsor-demo\/#sthash.BqpSciqw.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>&#8220;W\u2184n Gbo&#8221; (We are dying) demonstration<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>scheduled for February 18.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;qGzmaDxfXSdGoiPV0I5j0GD5sMU9n93J&#8221;]The NPP last week announced plans to stage a\u00a0demonstration over what they described as the worsening power and economic crisis.<\/p>\n<p>After a meeting with the party, the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander DCOP Christian Tetteh\u00a0Yohuno &#8220;We have concluded all security arrangements with the party.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Citi News has gathered there were disagreements between the Police and the party over the designated routes to use but the two parties eventually arrived at a consensus.<\/p>\n<p>The 2016 \u00a0Presidential Candidate for the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo will <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/02\/14\/akufo-addo-to-lead-npp-dumsor-demo\/#sthash.zp54Zb1A.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>lead the demonstration<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, according to the\u00a0Deputy Director of Communications for the party, Anthony Karbo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNana Akufo-Addo will be at the fore front of this demonstration because he needs to show that it is the concern \u00a0and welfare of Ghanaians that matters,\u201d Karbo said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr.\u00a0Karbo the NPP&#8217;s\u00a0criticism and planned protest is legitimate since the crisis, according to him, has lasted for three years under the Mahama administration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When will &#8220;Dumsor&#8221; end?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President John Mahama has said he remains committed to his promise of ending the power crisis.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking at this year\u2019s annual convention of the Saviour Church of Ghana at Osiem in the Eastern region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plans we have for the nation are for the future and not just for today.
