The headline sponsor of the Black Stars, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has promised each member of the team $25,000 for the\u00a0gallant performance they put up at the just ended African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
This is separate from\u00a0all other bonuses from the team’s sponsor;\u00a0Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) would pay to the players.<\/p>\n
The Black Stars painfully missed out on an AFCON trophy on Sunday, when they lost the final on penalty shootouts to Cote D’Ivoire.<\/p>\n
President Mahama made the announcement on Tuesday when the\u00a0team today paid a courtesy call on\u00a0him\u00a0at the Flagstaff house.<\/p>\n
He congratulated the Stars for the spirited display in the Tournament saying\u00a0“the Black Stars have restored our confidence in the senior national football team.”<\/p>\n
