The Volta Regional Minister Hellen Adjoa Ntoso has called on teachers in the Region to use\u00a0materials in their surroundings to make teaching more interactive for the pupils.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”TWYsdUEYYg4r6hLVMokN06i5iHgKaBSe”]She said although standardized learning and teaching materials are not readily available, teachers should take advantage of some useful materials in the communities to make teaching and learning exciting for pupils.<\/p>\n
She listed items such as old computers, television sets, and furniture as some of the materials teachers can use.<\/p>\n
The Minister stressed that the need to create room for children uniquely endowed with capabilities to exploit their make-ups remains a prerequisite for harnessing their full potentials.<\/p>\n
She added that the array of untapped talents on the streets across the country could have been useful to the country\u2019s development if they were discovered and developed in their formative years.<\/p>\n
“We have many of them on the street selling dog chains because we didn\u2019t monitor them to discover their interests when they were young\u2019\u2019. She explained<\/p>\n
She encouraged teachers to adopt a more interactive way of teaching and not the instructional methods which has become outmoded.<\/p>\n
Adjoa Ntoso made the call during her visit to some schools in the Akatsi North District.<\/p>\n
She revealed that despite the unavailability of funds to supply schools with the standardized teaching and learning materials, teachers must be ready to improvise to improve quality of education in the region.<\/p>\n
“We can improvise since we don\u2019t have the toys; engage them so they can discover their interest.”<\/p>\n
