He argued that NDC\u2019s inability to resolve the crisis is a \u201cbig loss to the people of Ghana, it\u2019s a betrayal of the trust Ghanaians have put in the NDC government \u2013 both late Mills and Mahama and that is why I am saying that they ought to step aside and let more competent leaders take over the country. Let us be more serious for once.\u201d<\/p>\n
The President together with industry players are frantically working to resolve the three-year-old energy crisis which has intensified in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
The business community and the general public have expressed their frustration on the issue<\/strong><\/span><\/a> but the President is pleading for patience<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>as they work to bring relief to Ghanaians.<\/p>\n According to Mr. Adda, during his time as Minister, in the Kufuor government experienced energy challenges but it was resolved within a year.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cWhen I was the Energy Minister, the crisis was on up till a year and we got it solved. People were calling for my resignation but I got it all solved by the end of September 2007. And we put all the mechanisms in place, all the programmes in place \u2013 short-term, medium-term, long-term\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n He therefore questioned by the NDC has been unable to put an end to the crisis despite all the measures the NPP government put in place before leaving office in 2008.<\/p>\n The former Energy Minister also described President John Mahama\u2019s recent visits to some power plants and the Akosombo dam as a \u201choax\u201d and a complete \u201cwaste of time\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFrankly speaking, it is a waste of time, a waste of tax payer\u2019s resources and after six years of being in power, both as a Vice President and as a sitting President, now is the time for you to go to the plants besides the Akosombo\u2026is this the times you are now going there to just look and go away?\u201d he queried.<\/p>\n Mr Adda added that the President\u2019s visit to Akosombo will put more water in dam and \u201cthere is nothing he can do about that.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued saying, \u201cI think it\u2019s a waste of time and to me, it just shows that they are playing a game with Ghanaians. It\u2019s a total hoax as far as I am concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that what ought to be done urgently is to find money to buy light crude oil to power the plants.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve been there for six good years and today, you are asking us to be patient – Patient again for you to lead us into incompetence, mismanagement, corruption?
